Up for auction is a 1978 Suzuki rm400 that I rebuilt a few years ago. This bike has less than 5 hours on it since rebuild. It runs well and functions good for a 35 year old bike. I built it because of my love for classics and to ride with my son. After riding it a few times I realize I will end up with broken bones if I keep it. Here is a list of the new parts. Maxxis tires front and rear new Suzuki perches and levers new trans bearings new piston, ring .25mm and pin & bearing vintage Suzuki fenders all new motion pro cables progressive rear shocks DID chain Barnett clutch Buchanan stainless rear spokes new seat cover new silencer new mikuni carb with correct jetting uni air filter new fork seals The number plates and tank have been painted to match the fenders. Everyone knows plastic fuel tanks do not respond well to paint and this is the third tank I have painted without success. I sealed it internally with Caswell tank sealer and it did not adhere, therefore when fuel is left in the tank for more than a few days the paint blisters. When the tank is emptied the blistering goes away because the paint is high quality. I think it is a pretty nice bike. The bike must be picked up or buyer must arrange shipping.
