This is a 1978 Suzuki GS1000E, one of the original superbikes. I bought this bike from the original owner and have owned this bike since 1983. The bike has a Windjammer fairing, which was the hot setup in 1978. The fairing has removable lowers (not on the bike in the pictures, but included) and storage pockets on both sides. The only thing that is not original is the handlebars. The originals were replaced with bars that are a little wider and swept back for a more upright seating position for long rides. Everything works including the gas gauge, tach, speedo, turn signals, etc. The bike runs well but has not been used much recently. It could probably use a tuneup. The tires are almost new and are modern versions of the old tire sizes. Seat is original and in perfect condition. The bike has never been crashed or down, but there are some scratches from years of parking next to other bikes and cars. There is a little rust here and there due to age, mostly on the pipes, but not bad. The aluminum cases on the engine and the fork legs are starting to corrode. They could probably be polished out but I have not attempted to do anything. A polishing bonnet with some metal polishing compound could probably fix up the aluminum. In the pictures, the bike has not been cleaned, so it could shine a lot better. The bike comes with the Suzuki owner's manual, shop manual, the original headlight and front turn signals (not used with the fairing) and the fairing lowers. I also will include a collection of all of the articles from past bike magazines where the GS1000 was reviewed or talked about, including racing history. It is about and inch thick collection of articles. Someone compiled these articles, and I bought the copies. This is a great old bike with very low mileage looking for a new home. These bikes were known for going at least 60k miles or more before major engine problems, but there are no guarantees.
