I am the third owner of this fantastic "Get in and GO"- "A" Body -1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. I purchased the car from my neighbor, who's son restored the car back in the 1980's and passed away two years ago. He was an Auto Body Restoration Professional who took over five years in restoring this car in terms of paint and mechanics of the High Performance 289 CU IN engine...and it is reflected in the cars overall condition. The car has been in storage for over 27 years with only weekend and occasional use..this was only one of three vehicles he collected and restored.It's 289 engine was rebuilt and with each cylinder being bored only .015" over to straighten, with a wide cross hatch pattern for better oil control added, and a Speed Pro Cam, as was a Edelbrock High Rise Manifold with the Big Holley Four Barrel Carb. Each cylinder was recently checked for compression and ran from 160-180- psi compression with No Leakage what so ever. Hardened Valve Seats were added when restored.The engine is tight and super clean throughout with No Dripping or Leaks. It has a manual choke which I have yet to use in the limited driving I have done with it... and every time it starts on a dime.The estimated HP is somewhere in the 375-400 HP range.Mechanical advance distributor...no vacuum advance. Exhaust is Stainless Steel Dual with Headers that sound "Awesome" yet fully legal and not overpowering...but it does let everyone know that theres No Pony under the hood.All body trim is either original and mint or replaced thru Virginia Mustang.All glass is "Original" and perfect with no scratches or cracks.All welting or body trim seals are new around glass.Blue Pin Striping around front grille, left and right body and rear lighting.Bumpers are perfect chrome.Lights, signals, radio, wipers, heater and controls work as per original and new.Dashboard is without any sun fading or cracks but has drooped under drivers and passengers side slightly.Headliner is original and is perfect.Wood trimmed Steering W.heelLong Extended Deluxe Console and lights are in perfect condition.Seats appear to be original and all are excellent condition.Carpet appears too perfect to be original...but looks great. Can't say if replaced but my guess would be yes.All interior door trim handles and window cranks are new from Virginia Mustang...originals are included but are black.A box of all original Mustang emblems and badges and cast Ponys are included...second owner had in trunk in a box..and theres a bunch of everything.Under hood engine compartment is so clean you can eat from it. Trunk is spotless but has no spare or jack. AGAIN...no rust!! Ever!New Cooper tires all around.All Suspension Shocks and Front Springs are all new...rear springs are questionable as to original and are four leaf.Underside of doors and car body are perfect and reflect that this car as a North Carolina car never has had any rust.Mag Rims with Mustang Emblems.New battery was just added after taking out of storage three months ago.The car has never been waxed or buffed. There is no Amour All on this car.
