Up for auction is a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette L48 Black on Black. The car has L82 emblems on it but is an L48. This is a beautiful car -- the car looks as good up close as it does in the pictures and the car runs and drives great. It is a numbers matching car, except that the 350 Turbo Trany was taken out and a 700R4 4-Speed automatic was installed. The origional transmission is included with the purchase of the car and there isn't anything wrong with it. The 4 speed was put in so the you could cruise at interstate speeds without taching high rpm's. The wheels on the car are Nitto 255ZR's. 255/50/ZR/17's on American Racing Wheels. These wheels are perfect for this car and the tires have less than a thousand miles on them. In case you want the car to be origional, the factory wheels with a set of Goodyear Eagle ST's are also included in the deal. The car has new ball joints and the A-Frames have been powder coated. As you can see in the pictures, the underbody and frame are clean and straight with no rust. The car is origionally from Missouri so it hasn't spent it's life in the north. I just changed the oil in the car with a high milage synthetic blend which I put in all of the vehicles I have with over 75000 miles. I have always had good results with the synthetics. I always try to describe the vehicles I sell as accurately as possible. There has been a lot of things done to the car to make it better, but there are some small things that still need to be done such as the left power window switch, which needs to be replaced. The motor and all the components in the door work perfectly. The turn signals work fine but, the plastic part under the steering wheel needs to be replaced. The left signal works the lever just doesn't lock into place. The air conditioning is all there with the compressor but, it may have a leak or just need charging. The belt is on the compressor and it turns freely. The switch for the heater/AC blower needs to be replaced. These are all simple things and I have the car priced accordingly. This car will not disappoint . . . it is a head turner everywhere it goes. What's better than a Black on Black Vette!! The paint is good but, not show quality. The headlights work the way they should. They go up and down automatically, that is, the way they are suppose to. I do drive the car when I get the opportunity and it drives great and is, just, really fun to drive. The car is being sold as is. No warranty is expressed or implied. A $250 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end and final payment within 7 days of the auction at the time the car is picked up. The buyer is responsible for picking up or arranging for the transporting of the car. I will not sell outside the united states or ship to other countries.
