Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. 1969. We have had the car in the family for 12 years. Purchased in 2001 in New Orleans, Louisiana.. It is currently in North Ridgeville, Ohio..where it has been for the past few years. The car is still titled and registered in Louisiana. My Volkswagen mechanic built a new motor for it a few years ago. He also installed a points-less distributor for the vehicle so the points do not have to be adjusted. He installed all new seals in the outside of the transmission and placed a new clutch in the vehicle as well. The mechanic also installed brakes. Every part of the braking system was replaced including rubber hoses, and all mechanical parts including the master cylinder. He also installed new wheel bearings on it as well. A new gas tank was installed as well as a sending unit. The rear tires were replaced last year. Since the motor and other work was done a few years ago.. I may have put a couple hundred miles on the vehicle at the most. The interior carpeting is in good condition. The seats were redone a year ago, along with a new headliner last year. New door panels on the front doors replaced this year. The radio is just a cd type radio.. but an original radio can be reinstalled as the opening for the radio has been left the way the factory set it up. It does need a new turn signal relay installed.. which I have sitting in the trunk. A lower piece of the passenger side dashboard which cushions your knee is showing a wear mark as well. Also the center of the front bumper shows some pitting in the chrome. The car is dark blue. It still has a pretty good shine.. but there are some minor imperfections in the paint if you look closely.. but over all.. it looks nice since it has spent its life in the south. The underneath still is in nice condition..with some of the undercoating from the factory pealing off. It runs mechanically well..and the car is pretty fun to drive. It also looks pretty sharp.
