Vehicle Detail
1967 Ford Mustang Coupe! Ok folks, some of you may remember (or may have bid on) this car from a previous seller from about a month ago. Well, he had bad luck with non-paying bidders, so I stepped in to give it a go. If you did look at it in the past, I've since corrected the leaking fuel line, the leaking valve cover gasket, and the soft brake pedal. With that said, here we go with the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just trying to put it all out there to be honest and fair to all; I didn't even wash the car before taking pics... didn't want to woo you with a shiny car, hahaha! Anyway, here's what I know, what I've been told, and what I've seen and/or have had done to the car thus far: 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe, 6 cyl, auto trans, manual steering and brakes, working am/fm radio with a JBL speaker tucked in behind the dash. The car runs, drives, steers and stops. The odometer is showing 60,554 but the title (which is dated 09/2012) reads 67,451. The car has recently had a tune-up, new gas tank, fuel line repair (no more leak), new brakes, new brake lines, brake adjustment, new battery cables, new full exhaust, carb looks newer, new heater core installed this past week, new chrome valve cover w/gasket replacement (no more leaks), new air filter with chrome cover, decent tire tread and functioning lights and wipers. Now, although the paint is shiny, it's fair (it could be a Maaco job, or a DIY garage spray), basically decent, with a bit of mild orange peel here and there; BUT looks GREAT from about 10 feet, and will wax up nicely! Car was obviously someone's hobby, and shows signs of some body work and some misaligned body panels. An area of paint on the trunk lid, about the size of my palm, has peeled (as photographed); there's also some scrapes or chips in the paint, which has also been photographed. The black interior is generally nice, with some minor wear on the driver's seat, which is an easy repair if you want to sew it up. the headliner has an open seam that could also be sewn up if you so desire. All the gauges appear to work. When I drove it home from my mechanic's the other night, the glove box popped open and scared the sh!t out of me, haha! Other than that, front windows, go up and down as they should, but the rear quarter windows don't appear to roll down- feels like the window crank might be stripped or something. I know, it's minor, just trying to be brutally honest so there's no surprises. The underside looks generally solid; the new exhaust, fuel tank, and brake lines look nice under there. The driver's side torque box had been boxed in with plate steel. It's an older repair with sturdy plate and solid welds, so I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. I've personally driven the car a few miles; it tracked nice, didn't pull, smoke or rattle. The tags are coming off this weekend as I need to mail them back to the owner, so this was a registered and insured car that was on the road until today. I've tried to describe the car as best as I could, but with I'm no mechanic; and with any 46 year old car, I'm sure there might be something I'm missing. Car comes with no warranty, and should be considered as-is. I reserve the right to end the auction if the car becomes no-longer available; so, if you're serious about owning this car, don't miss out. Included with the sale is a $25 Gift Certificate to California Mustang. Good luck bidding!
