This is a 1994 Honda Goldwing GL 1500 Interstate. The bike looks good. I bought it in November of last year knowing that there is a problem starting the bike. A friend of mine promised to fix it for me but he was to busy and never did. I contacted a Honda Dealer and they gave me an approximate estimate of $500-$700. Later they called me with $1000 cost of the repair and the next time they contacted me was 4 weeks later to tell me it will cost $2000 and not guaranteed that this is all. I asked what cost is so far and what they did. It was over $1200 and bike starting and running but they needed to install new fuel pump which cost $400 plus labor. I checked ebay and found one for a little over $100 and a new pump for $200-$300 so I think dealers price was a little to high. On top of this they said the motor doesn't sounds right and there can be additional cost. I told them to not touch it anymore because I was not going to put more money into it. They delivered it back to my house and the mechanic that brought the bike to me said that he has good news because the motor sounds right now. He showed me how to start the bike without working fuel pump. I tried many times and the motor sounds right to me. However I cannot guarantee anything so it would be a good idea to come see it in person before placing a bid on it. I'm honest with the problem and want to avoid winning bidder to tell me after the auction that they do not want the bike or get the negative feedback. I will provide a copy of the bill I paid and contact to mechanic who took care of the bike. The bike looks good for its age. Paint and chrome are in good condition. Tires looks good. The only thing missing is the compartment cover. I will also include a helmet, jacket and boots. Please contact with all questions you might have. Thank you for looking.
