Vehicle Detail

This is a 71 Camaro I bought from an individual several years ago out of a garage where it had sat for many years, the usual 4 flat tires, not running, dated American Racing wheels and such. My intention was to re-build it for I have owned several when I was much younger. This Camaro has always been a pleasure to drive. It is the only standard second generation I have owned. Yep she has a nice 4 speed Muncie in her 8121 NFC2. When I bought the car I replaced the clutch and throw out bearing. I haven’t driven it much maybe a few hundred miles on them tops shifts smooth. The original engine was replaced prior to my purchase, what is in it now is a block number stamped GM 3925656, which I have learned is a 283 it came in 1968-1969 passenger cars, Corvette, Chevy II, Chevelle, and Camaro models. The previous owner said it came out of a Vett but personally not for sure. Engine runs strong, the only thing I changed was putting in a new ACCEL HEI distributor in it, the old one however I still have. Good ole dependable 4 barrel Rochester crab is still there. The rear end is one legged with a 3:08 in it. I replaced the American racing wheel with period correct 5 spoke 15” wheels. Everything is there however one of the wheels is bent not my doing, a surprise after I had purchased them. The tires are all BF Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R15 plenty of tread on them all. The car came with no factory Air or P/S. Recently replaced the door panels within in the past week. There are areas of blistering due to some rust, typical areas on these cars some pin holes in the front floor pans, lower rear quarters and the hood and rear lower roll pan. Could use a good media blasting wouldn't take much all the metal is there. Bumpers I would send out and have them re-chromed. The front windshield has a crack, drivers side glass has scrapes due to window felts being worn out. All the aluminum trim looks good around the windows everything is there, window gaskets, felts need to be replaced but they are there. The car is a driver at the moment, looks good from a distance but not ugly, basically needs to be restored I just haven’t had the time.
