Restoration Process Our scooters go through extensive restoration process to ensure the highest possible quality and run time. Our experienced mechanics define the criteria of what needs to be replaced, however frames and engines are always originals. Both items can be tracked according to their serial numbers, for example via http://scooterhelp.com/serial/ves.frame.serial.numbers.html. Scooter’s body frames are stripped down to bare metal. All rubber, plastic, leather, aged aluminum trim cover, electrical wires and harness are disposed of. The frame is then inspected for body cracks before the alignment procedure. The whole frame is subsequently painted with primer and 6 coats of high-quality finish paint. Engine castings are cleaned using a sand blaster and then checked for any cracks, stripped threads and bearing surface damage. We reassemble and replace pistons, rings, carburetor, all bearings and clutch. We further rebuild all gears and clutch assembly, replace cylinders a cylinder heads, exhaust system and all aged parts. We also perform complete strip down and replacement of all rubber hoses, brake shoes, front and rear shocks, springs, seats, tires, tubes, cables, odometer, locks, all electrical wiring and electronic parts, floor strips and rubber trims.What are you getting? Please note that this motorcycle is an old-school kick starter with manual clutch and 4-speed transmission. Oil and gas need to be mixed in the tank but you should get enough guidance in the enclosed manual. After the restoration process the scooter has been tested so it can have up to 20 miles on the odometer and please note, that the scooter should be driven at maximum of 50mph for a first month to ensure proper break in. Since it is a cool vintage technology, you might need to adjust your scooter from time to time, but this should be very easy, since you find everything important in the manual and online from fellow Vespa owners.
