At the front of the car, a familiar stretched nose hangs a classic Porsche crest between 917-inspired HID headlights and an aggressive, showroom-fresh fascia. At the top of the car, pristine greenhouse glass is bordered by sculpted mirrors and capped by a black cloth roof. At the sides of the car, mandatory silver brake ducts are balanced by outboard fender ridges and bright silver "PORSCHE" stripes. And at the back of the car, classy LED tail lamps illuminate a "Boxster" branded trunk and an aggressive rear fascia that's complete with a center-outlet exhaust tip. Naturally, the car's visual testosterone is backed up with plenty of power from the engine room. In this 987 Generation II guise, the base engine grows to 2.9 liters and has been engineered to be lighter, stronger, and freer spinning. That resulted in an increased output of 255 horsepower and 214 lb./ft. of torque. And thanks to careful retuning of the mill's intake manifold and exhaust system, the car sounds fiercer than ever. All those tweaks and improvements resulted in a lightweight roadster that's capable of brisk 5.8 second 60 MPH sprints and a quarter-mile time of 14.4 seconds. The substantial updates provide torque throughout the RPM range, creating a very drivable car anywhere from Saturday track days to rush hour commutes. The high tech mill, widely regarded as one of the world's best powertrains, features a great combination of race-proven technology and traditional smoothness. And, based on appearance, the silky engine has been meticulously maintained and carefully driven. This is definitely a have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too vehicle! As one of the automakers that pioneered nimble rear engine, rear wheel drive powertrains, Porsche has been generally praised for their exceptionally athletic platforms. The car's fully independent suspension has been augmented by stiffer rear springs, larger anti-roll bars and Porsche's own Active Suspension Management system. At the corners of the car, 12.5 inch front and 11.8 inch rear vented and cross drilled brakes, which benefit from mandatory brake-assist and brake pre-fill systems, ride behind original 18 inch wheels and 235/40 front and 265/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza meats. The bottom of this basically new Porsche looks spectacular and probably hasn't been touched for anything other than basic maintenance. And you can drive the car with the confidence of knowing that there aren't any hidden surprises waiting for you down the road! Inside this slick drop-top, it's all about a symbiotic relationship between cutting edge European performance and traditional 'old world' luxury. At the center of the car, perforated leather buckets, which are trimmed with attractive aluminum bits, show hardly any wear at all. Between those seats, a conservative center stack frames a factory audio system that's complete with both navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. At the base of that center stack, like-new carpet, which is protected by thick, "PORSCHE" branded floor mats, anchors a color-keyed console and an aluminum-trimmed shifter between satin-finished Boxster sills. Above those sills, tight-fitting door panels cap four great sounding speakers with bright silver handles. In front of the driver, a handsome, three-spoke steering wheel spins convenient paddle shifters around a colorful Porsche crest. Behind the passenger's, a fully integrated windscreen funnels wind onto a fresh and exceptionally roomy trunk.
