mr2parts4u Store 1989 Toyota MR2 5-Speed - T-Top - Cruise - A/C - New Tires - New Paint - 59,800 original miles is very low miles. The 89 model is the last of the first generation MR2 s and it has the thicker stronger suspension, better frame brackets, bigger brakes compared to the 85-86 models. These are the original wheels that are very hard to find especially in this condition !!!! This car runs and drives like new. The 1.6 liter engine in the 89 is also better built than the 85-86 models with bigger crank bearings and the 7 rib block instead of the weaker 3 rib block that was used in the 85-86 models. The c-52 transmission really shifts great,just like new and you don't have to worry about the problems of the 5th gear pop out that comes with higher miles on the 85-86 model MR2 that came with the c-50 transmission. The c-52 transmission was made a lot stronger with dual synchronizers to correct the 5th gear pop out that was a problem with the 85-86 models. This was a problem only after 150,000 plus miles.This car was named one of the 10 best by Car and Driver for the 1980s. They recognized the completely new concept of a mid engined High Tacking speedster that Toyota had engineered. Toyota used the best of the best to make these cars. The plant was manned by mostly retired auto workers who came out of retirement and that quality shines through. Do yourself a favor if you dont know much about these cars take a little time and google Toyota Mr2 and read up on this machine. It is a great story. If you ever get a chance to drive one that is in good condition do it. It is hard to imagine not having one after you drive one. Clean CarFax - Clear Title A great example of Toyota's 1st generation classic mid-engine sports/commuter. This car just had a comprehensive re-paint to correct the original faded and worn from washing that happens to most factory paint jobs Toyota did in the 80s. The new paint looks fantastic and was done in original super red with a clear coat so it will keep its shine for years to come. Solid car, no damage that needed repairing before paint it is a $2000 paint job. I would not be afraid to drive this car across country right now. All fluids were changed, new wires, new plugs timing belt done last year. Fuel pump replaced only because I was unsure if it had been changed and this car was being fixed to be driven so nothing was overlooked. Everything works as it should. All available power options - A/C, Windows, Locks, Mirrors. Includes factory spare tire, jack, and tool kit. Engine compartment is clean. Everything is where it should be. Nobody messed around with this car. It's a time capsule. Includes Original Window Sticker ($18,200 MSRP) and Dealership Paperwork. Bonus MR2 brochures as well. I have too many cars, so I need to sell a few.You can also see a grey 88 MR2 that is parked next to this one and it is mine and is a low mile supercharged car. I really hate to sell this car but I recently bought a 2004 Collectors Corvette that I had wanted for quite a while so I promised my Wife I would sell one to make room. We are a group of 3 guys who all own at least one of these cars and we enjoy working on these cars and we sell off parts from the cars we use to better our cars.
