Vehicle Detail
I have re-listed this truck as a no reserve auction. The starting price is the highest the truck bid to with the "reserve" style auction. Please only bid if you are serious about owning this truck. Keep in mind, I have FAR more money into the truck than this starting bid, but you know the truck is only worth as much as you who are bidding are willing to pay. In the spirit of a true auction, someone will win. I will be adding more pictures when I have time. I have added things I forgot last auction. Thanks! 1968 Chevy C10 Custom 5-speed manual, power brakes, power steering, power windows, hydraulic clutch converted. Up for your consideration is a 1968 Chevy C10 Long-bed Step-side truck. The front clip of the truck has been converted to a 1969. If you have been wanting one of these trucks in nearly complete condition without the complete price tag, now is your chance. Many of the more desirable modifications have already been performed and very little is left to complete this one. The reason I am selling the truck is because I have several projects to work on and had to give up a couple of them. It runs strong an nice. A lot of work has gone in to making it fuel efficient as well. Most people say "too much to list", but I have done my best to list everything I can remember below. By category. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If it's a question that would benefit everyone, I will make it public. I will also add pictures as requested. First, this truck has no rust except for one surface rust spot on the lower left hand corner of the tail-gate area where the vehicle was hit. Some minor body work needed there, but otherwise it's just paint improvement. The chassis and power train are in excellent condition. The body and paint is fair. The paint could use a little work but it is presentable now. I have all receipts and a history for the trucks construction and maintenance. Restoration pictures, receipts, any spare parts that I have, etc. all come with the truck. All fluids were recently replaced with synthetic (including differential), coolant is new, serpentine belt is new, thermostat is new, front brakes are about 75%, rear brakes are new. So in other words, the usual maintenance items are done. The truck is ready to drive. A $500 dollar deposit is required within 24 hours of winning this auction via paypal. The remaining balance will be required by wire transfer or cleared cashiers check prior to us releasing the for pick up or shipment. It is a classic truck, and although it runs great, I wouldn't recommend attempting a cross country drive with it since it hasn't made a journey like that in awhile. This truck is located in Albuquerque, NM and is for sale locally and therefore reserve the right to end the auction early. I can be reached at 505-220-1965 if there are any other questions. Engine: -388 Cubic (383 bored to .060”) motor build at Hi-Purr Engines in Albuquerque. Engine is built to withstand up to 800 HP with supercharger installed. I have receipts and invoice for this engine. Again, all receipts for all come with the truck. -MAHLE ceramic coated forged pistons (-15cc dished for low comp. super changer setup), Total Seal piston rings The engine is designed ( compression ratio 8.5:1 ) to have a Weiand 142 or 144 roots style supercharger. (Summit Racing part number WND-6500-1) It is around $2000 for the 142, and $2500 for the 144. The carburetor would have to be replaced with a mechanical secondary 4 barrel setup for superchargers. They are actually spec’d that way by Holley. The only problems with this is: 1. That’s a lot of boost. 2. Maybe a centrifugal would be better, but not cheaper. 3. Gas is averaging $3.50 at the time of this writing. With the lower compression, as is the engine will run the lowest octane fuel at the pump without issues. -Studded 4-bolt main factory roller LT1 GM block with one piece rear main seal. Serpentine pulley setup from 1987 Camaro Z28. -ARP head bolts & cap bolts -MOROSO 7 quart zinc plated oil pan, ARP cast polished aluminum tall valve covers. -Oil Pan Gasket – Felpro QOS34500R -EAGLE “ESP” forged 4340 3.75” Crank, EAGLE “ESP” forged 4340 H-beam 5.7” connecting rods with high strength ARP rod bolts -RHS (Comp Cams) aluminum cylinder heads with 64cc combustion chamber -Comp Cams Xtreme Energy roller cam (small base circle) -Hydraulic anti-pump roller lifters -Comp Cams hardened pushrods and guide plates -EPW 1.5 to 1 anodized black, aluminum roller rock arms -Stainless 2.02 intake valves & 1.94 exhaust valves with 3-angle valve job -Weiand “Stealth” dual plane aluminum intake manifold. Felpro intake manifold gasket part number 1205S3. -Weiand high flow water pump with 175 degree thermostat and dual single stage fan controllers -“Be Cool” extra large aluminum core radiator with dual electric fans -MSD HEI distributor (Currently the distributor only had 11 degrees mechanical advance. Set initial timing to 25 degrees. The engine will start just fine with this timing due to the high performance starter installed.) -Holley 600 CFM 4160 Carburetor double pumper with Holley dual output, non-return fuel pressure regulator with gauge (ready for 750 cfm carb) - 600cfm is REALLY not enough, but I don't have the time and money to upgrade it right now. Very fast for a truck even without the larger carburetor. -Rear mounted (converted) poly fuel tank. Summit ¼” outlet 80gph flow mechanical fuel pump. A holley red electric fuel pump will be included as parts, but I removed this setup because of poor reliability. -Long tube Hedman Headers with 3” ball & socket collectors converted to 2.5” dual exhaust -True-X Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust system (2.5”) -140 amp high output alternator - Lokar pedal floor mounted custom pedal setup Transmission: -TREMEC TKO 600 5-speed .64 overdrive manual transmission with TREMEC shifter relocation kit. It does have a tiny leak when static. These transmissions have a history of a small leak right out of the box, and there is a fix that can be done. I haven't had time to do it. Not a huge leak, maybe a quarter size under the center halves. -NEW SACHS 11 inch clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing. -Spicer one piece 6” aluminum drive shaft with Spicer U-joints (OEM from 2004 Dodge 2500) -Wilwood hydraulic clutch master and slave with custom aluminum cross member for stabilization -Mated to stock clutch pedal for OEM look. Body: -1968 Chevy C10 stepside with 1969 front hood, grille, and fenders -1967-1972 Painless wiring system installed -Dakota Digital Dash conversion -HID 12,000k Dual beam (high & low) headlights mounted in Hella glass lenses -Front fiberglass roll pan -Front and rear sway bards with poly bushings -2” Ground Force lowering springs in the front, 1 ½” solid 6061 aluminum lowering blocks in the rear -Axles upgraded to 1975 5-lug H.D. axles. 12 bolt rear end with 3.08 Richmond Gear Set, Eaton limited slip differential unit installed (good for conversion to 3.73 gears if towing is desired) -Light weight aluminum drive shaft. - Rear disc brake kits installed with drilled and slotted rotors -New tire rods, idler arm, and conversion from manual to power steering -Electric Life brand power window regulators Needs DONE: -Needs new front A-arm bushings (Energy brand poly bushings recommended, but they are ok right now) -Needs A/C, ducting, and defrost - wired for A/C and a compressor is provided, but I would recommend buying a kit from Vintage Air. Total cost of that system is around $1300. The heater works just fine however. I air mixing box, included with the truck. I didn't install it. -No reverse lights, but it is wired -Parking brake system not installed, but parts are included with sale. -Rear bumper needs to be purchase and installed.-Wood bed is present, but could use refinished.
