It doesn't get much better than this...A beautifully restored 1971 Pop-Top Westfalia painted its original two tone Chianti Red and Pastel White. This is a very rare color combination for a Westfalia and it makes me wonder if the original owners may have special ordered it from the factory? As you can see from the photos this is an absolutely rust free bus. The front floors are so clean it looks like you could eat off them. The body was exceptionally straight and only required minimum body and prep work before being painted. The interior was removed so that foil back insulation could be installed before replacing the beautiful birch paneling. Then the complete, matching, custom tan with with red piping upholstery was installed, maintaining the original Westfalia cabinetry. To complete the project a commercial grade bamboo style floor was laid to really complement the whole look. Top that off with the matching curtains and brand new pop-top. It feels and smells as if your sitting in a factory fresh new interior. This beauty draws a crowd where ever it goes....I had just got to a local park and was immediately surrounded by a bunch of admiring kids asking all kinds of questions... They really wanted to know if I actually lived in the van or when I was going to take it to California? Anybody want to go camping? Pack up the van and lets get back to nature...The 1971 Volkswagen van was a great year for the bay window Westfalia and what a beauty it is.The 1971 is a very desirable year due to the up-right dual port motor and front disc brakes with power brake booster among other things. This Westy drives fantastic; has good power, shifts smooth, tight front end, and really turns heads where ever it goes. To top it off I actually won second place at the one of the biggest Volkswagen shows in town just last week!!
