1949 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck For Sale · I’m selling my 1949 Chevy pickup. I’ve owned it for approximately 10 years, having bought it from a very reputable classic vehicle dealer in Atlanta in 2003. · It has the original 217 Thriftmaster 6 cylinder engine that does not burn any oil, and the 3 speed on the column standard transmission. · I would say the truck is about an 8 on a scale of 10. It has a very good paint job with just a few very tiny nicks and scratches. All of the chrome/stainless is in excellent shape. I replaced the grill and hood ornaments when I bought the truck. I have never done any bodywork on the vehicle nor has it been in any accident while I have owned it. · It has been rewired with a new harness. I’ve kept the original 6 volt system because this is the first 6 volt vehicle I’ve ever owned that cranks over and starts easily. · The body is in exceptional shape and there is no rust anywhere. · I just put on 4 brand new wide whites (in 2012). Included with the sale is the spare and three other wide whites in very good condition. · It has a good oak deck in the bed but some of the metal strips holding them down have a few paint chips. · The glass is good except for a small ‘scuff’ in the drivers side window. · I don’t know what the original miles are. When I bought the vehicle it showed 52,000 miles, however the speedometer part wasn’t working so I replaced the entire speedometer/odometer. My guess is, the truck has somewhere around 60,000 original miles simply because of the overall condition. · I’ve only put about 200 miles a year on it since owning to go to local shows and parades where the truck has won a number of awards. It has the original vacuum operated windshield wipers. · I’ve replaced the gas tank and gas lines. · I’ve never operated this truck in any bad weather and it has always been in a climate controlled garage since I’ve owned it. · I have a very reasonable reserve and will be happy to coordinate with the buyer to ship the vehicle.
