Vehicle Detail

Offered for your consideration... This 1966 Triumph Mountain Cub is in excellent condition...it presents well enough to be an award winner at the British and European Show at Germantown Md. But it is NOT a concours restoration! Please read the description and look at the photos...they are part of the item description. First note that there are a number of differences from factory original, and a few issues I want to clearly describe to all potential bidders: The rear (steel) fender has been shortened a bit. The front fender is polished aluminum. There are a number of pieces on the bike that have been chrome plated...check the photos...in my opinion nothing too gaudy...but not factory stock. At some point in the bike's life, the rh case half was replaced with a case half from an earlier T20SS model. Also at some point, the exhaust spigot on the cylinder was rewelded with a larger diameter outlet. Thus, the exhaust pipe was also modified with a larger diameter end to fit over the spigot. A trimmed clamp from a 500 clamps things down properly. The exhaust pipe and the muffler have been painted with a silver high-temp paint. The fuel tank has a few scratches...I've tried to show them in the photos. The non-working horn has been removed, but I'll include it and it's mounting bracket with the bike. The frame is powder coated, and all of the chrome is excellent. The tires (Cheng Shin Dunlop copies) are close to new, and mount on re-chromed rims with stainless steel spokes. Take a look...there is no rust or corrosion on this bike. Recent improvements and service include: Carb cleaning, new fuel line and fuel filter. Cleaned oil tank and new oil lines. Fresh engine, transmission, and primary oil. New Barnett clutch plates and springs. New E/T Ignition coil and plug wire. New seat cover and custom foam on the original seat pan (a $300 expense...) The bike starts and runs strongly, the headlight (both beams), tail light and brake light all work...when the engine is running of course...as there is no battery on the E/T ignition equipped bikes. As with most Brit bikes there are a few oil leaks. Needless to say, this bike is offered as-is, where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I'll need a $200 deposit from the winning bidder, with the balance paid in 7 days. PLEASE BE CLEAR THAT I WILL NOT RELEASE THE BIKE TO THE PURCHASER OR TO A SHIPPING COMPANY UNTIL ANY PAYMENT BY CHECK, MONEY ORDER, CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK CHECK...WHATEVER...HAS CLEARED AS A DEPOSIT IN MY BANK. I have a clear PA Title in my name. The frame # is T20SM1472, the engine # is T20M1472. Any shipping arangements and their costs must be made by the winning bidder. However, I will deliver the bike at no charge to the warehouse used by Federal Motorcycle Shipping...on the web at funtransport.com. Please contact me via Ebay Message with any questions. Thanks for looking.
