Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false You are bidding on a 1980 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. 2F six cylinder, four speed transmission, hardtop with ambulance doors in rear. The vehicle is in great condition and was restored for the previous owner 8 years ago. I have owned it for the past 6 years where it has been garage kept. The vehicle is very reliable and has no major mechanical issues. It is basically stock…with the only non-stock item that I know about is a high compression starter that I replaced a year ago.I drove this truck regularly to work (20 mile round trip) every non-rainy day and didn’t think twice about it…year round. Unfortunately, I am moving which is forcing me to part with this beauty. This vehicle is in great condition…but not perfect! It has been driven regularly…so there are small things like minor scratches on the front bumper and running board. In addition, the front driver seat’s vinyl has some wear. I’ve tried to show these items in the photographs and will be happy to describe them over the phone or post more pictures. Another important thing to note is that the restoration was not a “frame off” restoration. So in the interest of full disclosure, there are two areas that are not problem areas now but may be in the future. The first is the passenger side seam that runs perpendicular to the chassis. This seam has some residual rust running within the seam. The second area is rear of the vehicle. Under the spare tire mount and above the right taillight there are a few small cranks with hints of rust. I’m pointing these out so there are no surprises…but let me be clear…since I’ve had the vehicle, the rust has not advanced in these areas. So without a lot of exposure to rain/snow, these areas should remain relatively unchanged. Two other things...the floor boards were reinforced/replaced under both the driver and passenger sides. These are very solid and are not visible unless you pull up the floor mats. Also the back bed of the vehicle was sprayed with a textured paint...so it has a bit of a rough feel. I believe this was to hide existing or future wear. I'm pointing this out because this was not a stock feature of the vehicle. I've included pictures of these things in the photo gallery. (Also, it does have rear fold-down seats that are in good condition. They were in the up position when the photos were taken so you can't see them.)All in all, this vehicle is a real head-turner. I get compliments and looks wherever I go. So if you don’t want the attention, this vehicle is not for you!I'm only interested in dealing with serious buyers. So as a result, I am requiring a nonrefundable deposit of $1,000 upon confirmation from buyer. I am willing to assist with shipping and can answer any questions...or send additional photo to serious buyers. I want to make sure you feel comfortable in your purchase!I have this truck listed locally so I reserve the right to end ad early. The vehicle may be viewed locally (Richmond, VA) by appointment. Lastly, I've found that email inquires through ebay's mail system don't always get through to my iphone app. So I apologize in advance if you don't hear from me immediately. If you do feel that I'm not responding in a reasonable about of time, please call with any questions (8am -9pm EST) at 804-317-3113.Thanks and good luck!Steve
