Vehicle Detail
Calling all VW lovers, this is the cleanest and lowest mileage 14 year old car you'll find. It's got only 65,000+ miles, and I'm the one and only owner with all the service records for this very well maintained Beetle. It's only been driven in MA for just one year; it spent the last 11 years in WA state on salt-free roads. In addition to being in great shape overall, it's never been in an accident or had any incidental damage. The interior is in very good shape, the fabric seats have some wear but no rips or tears. There is ample headroom for front seat passengers, and surprisingly good rear seat legroom. The rear seat folds down flat and can carry a lot of stuff. It drives great and gets 30+ mpg, with almost every option available for this model year: A/C, cruise, power windows and locks, tilt steering wheel, height-adjustable seats, 17" alloy wheels, ABS and yes, a cassette player. Who should buy this car: someone that really likes VWs, especially New Beetles. Someone who enjoys shifting their own gears and taking great care of their cars. Someone that recognizes that this is far from the typical high-mileage, 14 year-old econobox from Japan. Who shouldn't buy this car: someone looking for cheap, nondescript transportation. Someone that sees the very low end of the KBB private party value for this car, rather than the high end ($4,774 for excellent condition). Everything in the car is original and in working condition. There are a few minor issues, including: the wheel insert hubs are missing their VW emblems; the passenger side fog light doesn't work (and is very difficult to replace, or I would have); and the passenger side power window switch is a bit loose, but works fine. The battery was replaced last year and the newer BF Goodrich tires have less than 10,000 miles on them (the first set of Michelins lasted 50K+ miles). This is a terrific car, perfect for VW aficionados. Sales terms: you pick up locally and pay with cashier's check or cash only.
