This is the classic Honda CRX-Si, the original pocket rocket from the Japanese car manufacturer. My father bought this from a Honda Dealership in Princeton. As far as I know, he was the second owner to this day. As we all know, parts sold individually total more than the actual cost of a car, and some original factory parts for this car is not easy to come by! The two rear tires are brand new (receipt available) from Pep Boys as of two months ago. My dad worked on this car when it needed work, and I know he had to replace the clutch twice, and the oil pan was replaced, but changed the fuel filter (8 yrs ago?), air filter, alternator, thermostat radiator by himself. He also religiously changed the motor oil 10-30 every 2000 miles. The car is reliable and I have never seen an "idiot" light go on. I think it is idling a little low, but that was how my dad liked it. The sunroof still works (it needs to be nudged by hand a little) but there is a slight leakage. There is obsvious rust on the body, but I painted some rustoleum primer on it to keep it from spreading. The speakers sound like they are blown, they are staticky and distorted. There are two Honda repair books that come with it, as well as a jack and spare tire. It starts up, drives around without a problem. Acceleration is still decent, although there is a tiny cricket-like noise coming from the dashboard. AC was installed, but he cut the belt when it was giving trouble and went without an AC. Any questions, please ask before you bid. Needless to say, all sales are final. The car comes AS IS. If you want to try out the car, you can come by (central New Jersey: Westfield), but you need to put a deposit of $500 and driver's license to take it for a spin around the block. On May-02-13 at 20:42:46 PDT, seller added the following information: There is one "accident" incident reported on the history report. I believe this involved someone stopping short in front of our car, and the CRX gave the other party's rear bumper a love tap. If you look at the (pixelated) front license plate, you can see a bit of a crinkly plate. That was the extent of the accident. A report had to be filed because the other party's rear bumper got scratched by my front license plate. On May-04-13 at 13:10:08 PDT, seller added the following information: One important thing I forgot to add: This car has NEVER been abused, meaning it's never been floored, red-lined, or had its gears grounded. My father passed away in the early 2000. He drove it gently, and when I got it, I basically kept it around for sentimental reasons. I drive like an old lady. So this car has never been raced it has never taken a beating. Both of us drive stick all our lives and we change gears gently. On May-08-13 at 13:27:29 PDT, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION: A mechanic friend asked me to add as a selling point that the car does not leak oil and the exhaust is clean. The catalytic converter was replaced about 6 years ago. There is rust on the tailpipe, but the catalytic is fairly current. I have also added a photo of the center console between the two front seats. It is functional. You just need to find the screws to bolt it down, if you chose. On May-10-13 at 06:17:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Back hatchback opens smoothly, but needs to be propped open with a stick (included) to keep it up. This can easily be replaced with two hydraulic cartridges to make it stay open. I just haven't used the car enough to change it.
