Vehicle Detail

Hello, for sale is my 1955 Packard 400 coupe. I bought the car with the goal of restoring her but as luck would have it a car I have wanted a long time has become available and the Packard has to go to a new owner. This is a great starting point for either a driver or a showcar. The body is very straight with surface rust here and there but the only rust issue is some rust out in the rocker panels. By the look of her it is still sporting original paint as there is a sticker on the rear from the dealer who sold her new (Lancaster Packard). Body solid and straight. Glass good and all windows work. stainless steel trim complete and very good. Bumpers good and ready to re-chrome. Only a small dent in one of the front bumper bullets (dagmars). 4 new wide whitewall tires. Interior complete and ready to be restored. Nothing missing that I can see except the cardboard glovebox. Car has a factory radio. Headliner decent and useable as is. Now the good news, the car has a completly rebuilt motor with reciepts. It was rebuilt a few years ago and has had minimal miles since. Reciept for motor was$ 6, 700.00. The man I bought the car from was driving her as is but then put her into storage. Since it has been pulled out of hibernation the tranny is funky, perhaps it is time for a rebuild or maybe just a new filter and fluid. Sitting is bad for a car. Exhaust is new. As I was not going to sell the car I have removed all the chrome, taken out the interior and did some minor needed repairs on the floor. Frame is great and underside looks good. This is an excellent car to restore or if needed a great parts car. If you have any questions send me an email. I will be away until tue may 7 so I may be slow to respond until then. If you want to see the car I am 12 miles north of Baltimore Maryland. Buyer can leave car at my location until shipping arranged. Hopefully someone will buy this beautiful car and restore her. Thanks and have a great day....Phillip Hi. I've added more pictures of the Packard and want to add a few details. The trunk is very solid with no rust visible and looks good. Body on this car is just about lazer straight with no door dings. Pictures , make car look awful, the car is VERY restorable and the rust spots on the car are surface rust. This car could be soda blasted, fix rockers and a few small rust holes in front of rockers and be in primer. It really is a very good car to work on. The tag inside the door reads as follows: 5587 4541PackardPaint GL Trim 84any other questions please send me an email. I hope these pics and details help all the people who sent questions to me.. Thanks !On May-09-13 at 07:27:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi Just wanted to add that I went out to the Packard this morning, 5-9-13 hit the key and she started up immediately, idled perfectly and ran cool for 30 minutes of running. This car purrs !!!! oil pressure excellent, charging system good, temp cool and dual exhaust low and perfect. I also forgot to mention that I was told the gas tank was cleaned and cooked and radiator re-cored. Anti freeze is clean and green. A real sweetheart motor wise. I was also told the entire brake system was replaced but I have not checked that out.. Its been sitting a few years and the next owner can see if that is the case but I am confident it is true. Thanks !...phillip
