Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1974 BMW R75/6 café bike. Bike is for sale as is, and where it is, with no reserve. Your bid is your contract to buy! I've owned this bike for a little over 10 years now. It’s been thoroughly gone through, and I've put about 20,000 miles on it in that time with very few problems. Fun little bike, but it’s not getting the mileage from me anymore that it deserves. Motor is in very good condition, last compression check was 145 psi in both cylinders. Starts easily hot or cold, and runs like it should. Clutch is new about 8,000 miles ago, clutch, final drive splines, swing arm pivots, all lubricated in the last 1000 miles. The paint is all nice, not perfect but very presentable. There's a few very small nicks in the tank paint. Wheel rims are painted black, the spokes are stainless. Modifications and additions: braced swing arm and fork (these two features help a lot with handling when laid over in a curve). Frame and sub-frame also have minor added bracing as recommended on the Boxer Works forum. Front brake has had its handle force decreased by a custom master cylinder lever which increases the mechanical advantage between the lever and the cylinder (this is similar to the other trick which is to decrease the master cylinder diameter). Front brake works better than stock ATE single disk; you might still want to avoid “stoppy “contests. Tank is a Slash 5 large tank, very good condition with a POR15 liner. Seat is a nearly new Slash 7 bum stop seat from Alteteile in Germany. The combination of these things drove some minor shortening of the sub frame, in addition the subframe is modified to mount the tail light and plate. Comes with the two into one exhaust that I bought it with. Had a stock exhaust on it most of the time I had it, stock was prettier than the 2:1, but lots heavier. Exhaust is solid, and sounds pretty good, just a little louder than stock. Other stuff: BMW speedo and tachometer replaced (speedo is digital, and even reads the speed you're going). Oil and charge indicators round out a basic and reliable instrument package. Pictures show the bike on the center stand, and its included with bolts and pivot bushings, but doe NOT have springs (I use it as a shop stand, and ride the bike without to save a few pounds). Chokes (enricheners in Bing speak) are actuated separately by SS pull rings. To me it looked cool, and saves high performance grams.
