Vehicle Detail

Absolutely Gorgeous 1991 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX Convertible Up for auction is an adult owned, meticulously built and maintained Mustang 5.0 Convertible. This rust free, straight and stunning convertible feels like High School all over again for me. Back in the early 90's, there were thousands of these cars cruising and this one holds that era to true spirit. I have spent the last 2 years building this car and only recently decided to sell as I need to make room in the garage for a new project. Please be serious if you bid on this car, make sure to get permission from wife or Mom & Dad prior to bidding. I have owned this car for a little over 2 years. All of the work listed below was completed by me and is less than 2 years old. This mustang has a stunning paint restoration and spent over 3 months in the shop. The pictures speak for themselves and they were all taken today by me. The car was brought down to bare metal and primed and painted. Forget about dents, there are not even dimples in the paint. It looks factory fresh and I keep the car in a climate controlled garage under cover. The shop that painted her handles all of the high end exotics in my area (Ferrari's and Lamborghini's) and the cost of the job was almost 7K. The interior has been restored as well. The seats have been wrapped in a nice and thick custom leather and show little wear from the Sun. The interior originally started life as red, however some of the plastics have been professionally sprayed black and the door panels are custom leather to match the custom seats. Up top is a brand new black Electron convertible top. Top goes up and down without issue, there are no holes, rips, tears or seams. It is perfect. The 5.0 motor has been treated to a host of goodies, my favorite being the Trick Flow top end engine kit - Street Heat 350HP. The car has a Trickflow intake, heads, cam, rockers, pushrods and Billet Oil Kit. There is also a Trickflow 75mm throttle body. There is also a full MSD Ignition system which includes the MSD box (hidden in the fender), MSD Distributor, MSD plugs and wires. To power the ignition, a PA Performance Alternator 95Amp has been installed with a 1 year old battery. For cooling, there is a Fluidyne 3 row radiator and I am currently running a 140 thermostat. I only take the car out in the summer and last year I was using it in 90+ degree weather daily. If you don't live in a hot climate, it should be changed to 160. To help her breathe, she has a BBK Cold Air Intake (Fenderwell), BBK Shorty Headers, Hi Flow Cats and Flowmasters with Flowmaster tailpipes. Larger Injectors ( I believe they are 30 or 36, I forgot what I put in) and a Walbro 255 Fuel Pump feed her. Tuning is accomplished by an ABCO mass air and a custom chipped computer which was burnt by Mustang Magic in Long Island. The car runs like a beast and sounds like one too! This is my 4th fox mustang and she runs the best. With all of the motor work, it is very street driveable, seems tame under normal throttle and roars when you open it up. Even with the aftermarket cam, there are only a handful of times I have had the idle hunt with the cam which is a known issue with all Foxes. Suspension consists of Ford Racing Lowering Springs, less than1K miles on the KYB shocks and struts and a BBK Caster and Camber Kit. The tires are all super meaty and have low miles on them. What looks better than Chrome Ponys? Drivetrain is Manual with a Ford Racing Hurst Shifter. She has a RAM clutch that grabs real hard. Power is handled by a Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft and 3.55 gears out back. Other maintenance items include a new heater core, new brakes, new door lock actuators, new power window motors for front windows, and only Mobile 1 oil, fuel stabilizer and only 93 Octane fuel. The car also has a new Alpine headunit and a Rockford Fosgate punch amp for rear speakers. The car has A/C, blows cold and the heat blows hot. OK, that's all the good... what about the bad? I'm very happy to say not much. The only issue is the stock hood, it just doesn't fit. The pictures will show you the Trickflow 75mm throttle body is too tall for the stock hood and made it nipple. There are also rub marks on the intake. It absolutely needs a cowl hood to look perfect. I have taken this into account and have lowered my reserve $1K dollars to reflect the cost of a hood and paint work. I originally had a 65mm throttle body but had plans on supercharging the car so I decided to upgrade the throttle body before installing the charger. Unfortunately, we did not think to measure the clearance and when we closed the hood, we were given a nice surprise. The hood still functions normally as is, it just takes away from the car. I have driven the car like this since last year and was hoping to get to it this summer. I've tried to list everything that I can remember about this Fox. This is a serious project that I invested a lot of time into and the pics show that. Feel free to ask questions and I encourage you to come and see the car in person if you are local. You will not be disappointed. The title is clean in my name, the car is inspected, there is no drama and no issues. A $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal is due within 24 hours of auction end. Balance is due within 7 days, either cash in hand or bank wire. I will not accept Paypal for the full balance or check. The winning bidder is responsible for pickup or shipping, I can assist with loading the vehicle with the shipper on pickup. All costs for shipping is winning bidder responsibility. This is a 22 year old car, I have done my best to explain it and show as many pictures as I can, however it is not showroom or new. I encourage inspections before bidding and buying, please understand what you are buying, there are no warranties or guarantees, this is a used car and is sold as is. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
