Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1972 vw volkswagen bus with a 1974 super beetle motor conversion!.In 1972 the pancake came out, however this bus has already been converted to an upright 1974 super beetle motor in it. I bought this bus a few months ago and drove her home after stopping at garage for a current inspection. It passed due to the new brakes, wheel cyclinders, tie rod and rust repairs the previous owner did. He also installed a new empi carb. It needed a new battery so I bought one and changed the one bulb needed for blinkers. I started doing some tinkering (this is a 40+ year old vehicle) and got the carb dialed in better (something with the choke and winter? , put a new starter on and relay. I also put in a new switch plate to "grab" second gear better. I was there when the fan and the "you know" hit in my life so my fix her up project can be somebody elses who also loves these vans. Between the rear coupler and the front switchplate you can get the best happy medium but much easier with 2 people. The tires are good and have most the tread left. The canvas top has already been replaced recently. The body work is fair, not a show quality paint but is pretty solid throughout with the rust sections reinforced with riveted metal. You could leave the patina or restore to glory. I have the bumper extensions for the front, but the pad is off of it and a repair project was begun by somebody before and never finished. I noticed a booster in the heat pipe that I havent tested to see if it worked, if it does great, if not then see how easy they are to replace and just help suck hot air from the engine to the front of the bus. I took a pic, found a flex heat pipe to connect the system...was going to put the muffler tape on the heater bozes due to rust issues, but some heat would be better than none for the time being. I hung up some fabric and did the seat backs and have some for some foam to make the fold out bed complete.... The backs of the front seats are just dirty but the seats are torn some so I glued some pleather on it just for now. Seat covers that fit custom are still sold and an easy fix to make new. The paneling is throughout the bus and the passenger side doors only opens from the outside. As you can see this van needs a good cleaning or left as is and some more tinkering to get just right. Again this is a 40+ yer old classic vw van in need of a new home however is a ton of fun to tinker with fixing things as you find them and has been driven this week. I can start it , drive it, steer it and the brakes work, however if you flood it or a bulb goes out then you fix it, it isnt under any warranty. If you are not mechanically inclined nor have a mechanic or friend who is then it is not a vehicle for you unless you just want to park it, or ANY other vintage vehicle as the older cars and bikes need upkeep. While I did have it running and driving this week let us just say it is not running so that a mechanic or yourself can sort it out and make a daily driver. I had to add the choke manually until warm . Van is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied or assumed. This is a 40+ year old vehicle and highly collectable.A full professional restoration worthy vehicle, or a backyard mechanic tinkering toy and camper. $500 non refundable deposit required within 48 hours by paypal unless other arrangements are discussed and agreed upon in advance between me and buyer. Thge deposit holds vehicle for 2 weeks before loss of buyers deposit and i relist....... title transfer does not happen until paid in full with buyer paying all the tax and processing to title transfer fees.... Shipping is total responsabilty and cost to buyer. I can possibly assist shipper however I do work so not always available. being sold locally also looking at the blue book value this is a bargain and very fair price...with a $1,000 paint job it would appreciate the price easily.....if it does not sell I will paint it and relist for more when I have time.
