Vehicle Detail

This is a really nice 1965 Honda S90! Super 90 as they were called back in the day. It only has approximately 3,500 mile. Actually it's a little lower than that, but we still ride it around the neighborhood. It gets a lot of attention. Runs great. Everything has been gone through. Charging system is good. New points, condenser, ignition coil, rectifier, and battery last year. Full tune up with valves and cam chain adjusted. Runs strong. No strange engine noises. Shifts like it should. No skipping or missing a gear. Started on 4th kick after sitting most of the Winter. Brakes are good with lots of miles left on them. All new cables. Newer tires with tubes. Carb has been cleaned and a new Honda needle float valve installed. All lights, horn, and speedometer work as they should. Original key: One key for fork lock and ignition. It cruises down the road at 45mph with ease. Great gas mileage! Approximately 90-100 MPG. This is Not an "old barn find". This 48 year old Honda has been cruising around in good weather for quite a few years. It was an Arizona motorcycle before arriving in IL a few years ago. We showed it once last year. There probably wasn't 10 minutes that didn't go by with someone stopping to tell you a story about owning one, or always wanting one, or just asking questions about it. Fun Day! We did get 1st place! But there was not a lot of competition in our class. We were in the scooter class because of the size of the engine. I'm Not selling this or claiming this to be a perfectly every nut and bolt "Restored" 1965 Super 90. It's very nice looking, with lots of new parts. We wanted to bring it back to be the dependable Honda as they were. It's a fun bike to ride or just cruise around on a nice day. It would be a great candidate for a "perfect" restoration. The parts are easy to find on Ebay, and usually less expensive than at the Honda dealership. It runs great and is dependable. Not claiming to be an investment expert, but I don't see these going down in value in the future. It's almost a 50 years old Vintage Honda. Very popular model back in the day. Then add in the high gas prices. We have a dependable fun vintage toy to scoot back and forth to the store, Sunday cruise, or show. Feel free to email with any questions. Test ride is always welcome if you have a motorcycle license. U-Ship is reasonable for shipping. I can deliver the Honda to Springfield IL for shipping purposes. Maybe able to deliver, if you are a few hours drive from Springfield IL. But delivery needs to be agreed upon and Confirmed Before the end of the auction. PICTURES: It is rainy today and the pics are showing up too dark. I will be posting new pics in the next couple days. And will try to see if I can figure out U-Tube so you can hear it run. There is No Warranty. Sold As Is. Understandably it is almost impossible to warranty something that is almost 50 years old. I will be posting lots of detailed pictures. Nothing to hide. Hopefully a U-Tube video too. Title is clear and in my name. Feel free to email with any questions. And/or set up a time to see it and hear it run. On May-01-13 at 20:59:04 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: Corrections on the above description AND Answers to quite a few questions. Keep the questions coming. I do not mind and I may have missed something. Please look at the pics closely. I try to describe everything as accurately as possible. It does Not have the original Honda Key. It is a copy of the original. The key works Both the Ignition And the Front Fork Lock. Headlight high and low beam, tail light, brake light, and high beam indicator light in the speedometer all work properly. The neutral light in the speedometer does not work. Probably just a bulb. Never bothered to replace it. Exhaust pipe is good. Not rusted out. There are some scratches towards the rear. If you look at the stick in the exhaust picture, it is pointing towards a small ding. No major dents in exhaust pipe. Top or Bottom side. Above I said it had all new cables. The throttle cable is Not new, but works fine. It is obvious in the pictures that the throttle cable is Not new. All other cables are new. The right side cover that goes over the carb...I don't know if that is stock? It came that way. It is made of fiberglass. I took a few pics of that so you can decide. Front tire is close to new. The back tire has weather cracking-check pics. Great tread on both tires. Both tubes hold air. NO slow leaks or anything like that. Front forks operate smoothly. The rubber fork boots are OEM Honda and are nice and pliable with no cracks or breaks. There are pliers marks on the left side chrome below the fork boot-see pic. That was done by the previous owner when he rebuilt the forks. I have had many questions about the engine. It runs good. No misses or strange ticking noises. Shifts fine. No false neutrals. It does Not Smoke. Does Not smoke when first started. Does Not smoke when sitting idling. Does Not smoke in the higher RPM's. The luggage rack is a nice accessory that you don't see very often. I will Not sell that separately, but thanks for asking. :) The plastic on both tank emblems is clear. Not foggy or faded. Not weather checked. Handle bars are straight. Check the pics of the headlight bucket. I guess it's a common thing for these to crack. It stays in place. So we didn't repair it. Seems like an easy fix using a fiberglass kit on the inside of the headlight bucket. One Ebayer asked: If I was going to use this as regular transportation would it need anything repaired today? Answer: Nothing that I can think of. But remember it's almost 50 years old. Once in awhile, when sitting idling, the idle speed my drop. Looking at it from 5 feet or so away, it looks great and gets a lot of attention. Adding/replacing some bolts and screws with new shiny ones. Then polishing the engine cases and finishing details like that would make this Honda really shine. We used it for Sunday afternoon relaxing rides in the country. We were more concerned with the mechanical aspects to keep it dependable and original. Keep the questions coming. I tried to take lots of detailed pics. I want to make sure that there are no surprises and the high bidder is happy with everything. Check my feedback. I try to go the extra effort to describe all of my items accurately. I kind of specialize in the Vintage Honda Elsinores. But I enjoy all the vintage Hondas. Great Hobby!......and feel free to email with more questions.
