Vehicle Detail

This garage kept 1994 Plymouth Voyager is up for sale by owner. I recently jump started the car to drive it out of the garage, but the battery is really dead and needs replacement. This vehicle has been used more as a cargo van with the back seats taken out (this auction includes the seats back in it). It's last trip was several months ago and most of the miles are highway miles since I've owned it. Previous owner was military. The exterior for the car is really good for this vehicle. The interior has some scratches and small rips in the ceiling cloth which can easily be repaired. It has 4 very close to new Firestone higher end tires. I expected to keep this vehicle longer but then got a larger caravan which I use as my cargo van now. The transmission was rebuilt about 55K miles ago. There was a slight hesitation of gears around 40mph last time it was driven, otherwise it drove fine. It is up for inspection and registration this month so I am looking to sell it and have it picked up before the end of April. The car also comes with 2 sets of keys and a keyless entry clickers and safe key. I have a clean title in hand that I can sign over to you. I need the transaction to close and be paid for in April. You can pick it up really early May if you need a little bit extra time to get tags etc. The van seats 7 and with a new battery should pass or be very close to passing inspection. I haven't driven it in a while so I'm not 100% on this. My mechanic said that with a few hundred worth of maintenance and repairs, this car will run great for a decent amount of time. I usually spent a couple hundred every couple of years to make sure the car is safe and running well. I spent around $800 about a year ago (most of it on the new Firestones) to make sure it easily passed inspection and would run problem free for the year. The radio works fine, I haven't used the tape player in many years. The heater works and the fan blows, but the AC is not cold. If you are buying this for parts then this is a really good deal. 4 close to new tires, just about everything under the hood can be used, the body is in nice shape with minimal paint fading for this vehicle, lots of recyclable material. I'm starting the car at salvage numbers. Just note that I want the car sold and out of here by this month. You can probably drive it out of here with a new battery but may also need to tow it. Other than a very short distance recently where it was jumped and then stalled due to a dead battery, it hasn't been driven in months. I'm selling it as is and all purchases are final. I'm starting it at a very low price based on junk yard value and hope to get a few bids. Feel free to offer or ask questions and you can stop by and see the van. It is on Rt 1 in Alexandria near the Wilson bridge. On Apr-27-13 at 08:29:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Van also comes with a spare tire and the original car manual. The trans was rebuilt in 2004 when I got the van (possibly up to around 70K miles ago) (spent $1800+ at Aamco receipt with what was done is included, specially taken care of by a mechanic I knew). In addition to the battery, the van will need an oil change... only driven 2500 since last change but that was a year ago and will need to be cleaned out. Includes 4 practically new Firestone Affinity touring tires (got them around the same time as the last oil change). The van drove fine the last time I drove it (that trip was to and back from Boston), but that was several months ago. There was an upper gear hesitation (van kicked a little bit before shifting up or below around 40 mph, otherwise drove fine). I'm not sure what that is and did not want to risk a cross country drive and so got another vehicle (which was bigger too in order to meet my needs). This could be from a sensor or a small exhaust clog or a transmission issue. I would advise getting it looked at before a long trip. I'm not 100% sure it will drive right out with a new battery. I think it will since I just jumped the battery and drove it out of the garage a little over a week ago, yet the lack of an oil change etc could keep making it stall or have a tougher time starting and it did stall out right when I was reparking it. The engine sounded fine and all the lights looked like they worked albeit dim because of the weak battery. The van got routine oil changes and maintenance and most of the miles were highway miles. So it's being sold as is at buyers expense even if you have to tow it out. A new battery will probably work (my guess is 90%+ chance). The car is parked at Huntington Gateway, right behind the shopping center at the corner of Rt. 1 and Huntington Rd (turn on Huntington to get right behind the strip mall) in Alexandria. You can stop by and see it, or if I'm around then I don't mind opening it up so you can see inside and under the hood and if you have a battery then you can start it up. Cell# is (301) 758-3929 if you want me to open it up then call before coming so I can try to be around. The car is being sold for parts (as the value of the parts is fairly high), but can also be fixed up and driven. Van needs to be paid for and title and you will need new temp tags for it right away. I plan on turning in my tags on Monday or early Tuesday morning (before the end of April plates expire this month). I will give you the keys when you are removing it from the lot, otherwise I need my parking pass in it to keep it from being towed. Thanks -David
