It needs a timing belt, and will more and likely need one of the heads/valves repaired. This is why the price is so low. This car normally sells from $2500 to $3000. However the repair is not costly. The mechanic quoted me between $550 to $650 to do the job. He said the car does not need an engine. As far the the exterior, it is in pretty good condition. There is some paint peeling, and a few scuffs marks, but nothing major. The interior is also in average to good condition. The driver’s seat shows wear and tear, but the rest of the seats look good. Yes, the car needs some work, but it works fixing—especially at this price. Once this car is repaired, it should last a while. Plus, this S40 is one of the best vehicles around when it comes to gas mileage. This is a NO RESERVE auction. However, the car is for sale locally; therefore, I can end the auction at anytime
