Vehicle Detail

The bike has been completely disassembled and rebuilt to spec’s. There are many modifications that improve the bike, it has been well sorted out and raced to a win in the opening round of the AHRMA national at Reddick, Florida in March 2013 (Ultima 500 expert class, two holeshots!). It is set up for a 175 expert rider and it runs smooth and fast. Front tire is in great shape the rear has one missing knob that came off at the last race in Reddick but I didn’t feel it was worth replacing since the rest of the tire has a lot of wear left on it. There are some minor blemishes like a small crack in the front number plate and I had to rivet an anti-cable snatcher to the front number plate as well (but it is original), a mod to the double leading front brake backing plate (it is solid however), the left side number plate near the front has been trimmed, the shifter has been modified to hug closer to the engine and prevent mis-shifts as the stocker was prone to and there is a small spacer on the rear brake pedal, none of these have an adverse effect on performance. Overall the bike was rebuilt to race and was not meant to be a museum piece, the emphasis was on function vs form however it is still a good looking bike. Over the past 10 yearsI have owned four 1983 480’s and have learned from each one and I must say this one is the best running and most sorted out of them all (and they all were winners by the way). Why am I selling, I have a 1983 CR250 that suits my style better and even though I love the 480 I can’t afford to keep both. This bike it is solid and ready to roll to the start line. Below are list of mod’s and such. Engine: DG pipe no dings, no dents Silencer freshly repacked (it is off of a 94 CR500 modified to fit) 1982 steel kick starter, no slop (much more durable than the stock aluminum) Transmission gears have been “back cut” for durability and performance All new bearings and seals in engine Boyesen reeds MSR Reed spacer (helps low end power) 1994 CR 500 flatisde Mikuni carb (helps smooth out power and makes it easier to start) Cylinder ported and head modified to lower compression by Eric Gorr (Fast Motion Racing) Cylinder has exhaust port relief groove cut to make starting easier Chassis: New linkage bushings and collars in the rear MXA “back in the day” fork modification to the dampening rods and race tech three way adjustable springs currently set at .42 kg or the middle setting Shock rebuilt with race tech gold valve and a stiffer than stock spring Wide CR500 pegs Renthal bars New seat cover New wheel bearings New brake shoes New chain guide, rollers swingarm protector New chain & counter sprocket New grips Put pre-mix in it and ride!
