Vehicle Detail
Let me start by saying that bike runs great, starts with no problem, all light work and it doesn't need anything. Scoot comes with all papers, currently registered and has only 33 original miles on the clock. This really unusual and rare bike was made in Italy in 1977 in the attempt to combine scooter and moped characteristics. Testi traditional mopeds like Cricket were imported in US in the end of 1970 in large numbers but only hand full of Amicos made it to US, as a matter of fact Amico considerate pretty rare find anywhere in the world, because of unusual design not too many were put to production. Limited production means hard to find parts but that's not the case with Amico, it's equipped with Minarelli engine that was pretty much standard for all Italian moped of the time and parts widely available. Body of the scooter made of fiberglass not plastic, it's 50cc 2 stroke Minarelli engine known to be bulletproofed and overall it's a great rare and collectible item. Now in regards to this particular bike. It was old stock of the dealer who went out of business and bike was sitting in the crate for 20 some years. In the mid 90s one gentleman bought it in the crate on the state auction, assembled the bike and kept it in his shop as a conversation item, he ride it 2-3 times and that's where 30 miles on odometer are coming from. I got this bike last year, bike had no spark and had fuel system clogged (previous owner never drained fuel/oil mix). So I changed one faulty wire, got the spark, cleaned carb and tank (tank is plastic so it was easy to clean) and got the bike running. Like i said scoot comes with transferable NY registration (state of NY doesn't title moped) no insurance is mandatory for this type of motorbike in the state of NY, state of CT for instance doesn't even require registration for mopeds, state of NJ takes NY transferable registration so is any other state I believe. Overall bike would be great collectible item for scooter or moped enthusiast, decoration of any collection or great daily running meaning of transportation, no insurance means savings of over $100 per year + what ever you will save on gas. For those who unfamiliar with mopeds and scooters: this bike is a pedal start, no battery, engine is 2 stroke gas/oil mix. I start this listing from $1 with no reserve so let the buyer set the real value of this bike Funds are due with in 5 days of the end of auction. I can deliver for the price of gas and tolls with in 60 miles of my zip 10708 (funds are due prior to delivery). If you live far away I have good/cheap shipping company and can provide you the contact information (please note I can assist with shipping but I would not arrange it for buyer). Will accept cash/USPS money order but not Paypal. Test drivers are welcome, if you want to come see the bike in person prior to the end of the auction pls contact me and we will set the day. I'm located in Bronxville NY 10708 Happy bidding.
