I purchased this 85 740 GLE Turbo Diesel from the original owner's family just over a year ago with 82K miles. I had the intentions of keeping it for the long haul, however I don't use it all that often and have another car coming home. It runs and drives beautifully and has never given me a problem. The D24T engine has always been run with Mobil 1 oil and during my ownership changed at 3k mile intervals. The turbocharger spools wonderfully and this car pulls and merges with traffic substantially better then many other diesels I have driven. The exterior has a few imperfections from age. The interior is clean and leather seats look excellent for their age . The rear seats have a little separation at the top of the seam. The headliner is new, which is a wonderful thing to anyone who has a owned a Volvo with a drooping headliner in the past. Included with the sale is fitted car cover, service manual and owners manual. During the past 6 months the car has received the following work: - at 85K it received a complete tune up. New belts, water pump, hoses, glow plugs, filters and fluids. - at 90k it received a new heater blower motor. - at 92K it received a new set of Yokohama Avid tires, a windshield and the original headliner was replaced. I have never run the car on biodiesel or vegetable oil, but it seems like it would be a great candidate. I would drive this car cross country tomorrow if I could. Please free to ask any questions.
