Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car for a little over three years. During that period of time I have made numerous upgrades and improvements to the vehicle. It is truly a fun car to drive and own. Tires and brakes are excellent. Everything (except the cassette player) works. That includes the air conditioning, radio, top pull down feature, door locks and windows. I have had the interior completely redone with a leather like vinyl that looks great. New parts include a water pump, fuel injectors, muffler, battery, and a battery shut off switch to turn the battery off when the car is not in use or in storage. The car has been stored winters since I have owned it. The engine and transmission run great! The body is in great shape for a car of its age----there are no dents or major scratches or rust, and the paint is sound. During the six years that Cadillac sold these cars only about 20,000 were made. They become rarer by the day. I can honestly say that each time I drive this car I am stopped by "someone" who asks me what it is, and tell me how much they like it! The convertible top is in excellent shape and works well. Also included in the sale is the removable hardtop which also is in excellent shape! I will also include in the purchase price an original 1989 GM shop manual specifically for the Allante. The title for this car indicates that the mileage is "Non -Actual with an odometer discrepancy." This is due to the fact that the previous owner was unable to verify the mileage for me. Therefore, when I obtained a title, it contained this comment. I do, however, believe that the odometer reading in the range of 148,000 miles (as pictured) is correct.
