Buick Electra Limited Mint 9,281 actual miles Up for auction is a beautiful 1978 Buick Electra Limited. To say this car has been well taken care of is an understatement. It was purchased new by my father, and stored throughout his life. He was so adamant about keeping it in brand new condition; he even installed clear plastic to protect the rug from getting dirty. Some of the remaining plastic is visible in the photos of the interior. As one might expect, the car's engine "purrs" and its ride is magnificent; an air-tight interior compartment and the classic Buick "ride" makes it seem as though you're floating down the road in the comfort of your living room. With only 9,281actual miles, the engine is not even broken in. All of the gauges work, including the clock and radio. The interior remains in brand new condition. It is extremely luxurious, spacious, plush and still retains the “brand new car smell” (non-smoker) it had when it was driven off the lot. The car's exterior finish is very lustrous. The body has no visible surface rust, but there are a few observable areas where the paint is worn off (see photos), as well as spot "touch-ups" that have been applied, but these were abrasions incurred during storage, rather than paint peel. The undercarriage and exhaust also still look to be in excellent condition. As was the case with cars from the 70"s era, the car is laden with heavy chrome detailing that still shimmers - once again, no rust although the bumper's plastic boots are missing. There have been only a few modifications made out of necessity. The air conditioning system had to be updated & converted over, the tires are brand new because the originals rot, and the battery is also brand new. The original manual looks new and remains in the glove compartment and there is a full-size spare tire. I don’t think the jack has ever been removed. This buying experience is like returning to the past to purchase a vintage car from an earlier era when cars were quality-built to last. This vehicle is less like a used car and more like a new car that’s been preserved for 35 years. Good luck bidding.
