Vehicle Detail
I bought this Trans Am on E-bay in 2007. It originally came from New Mexico. When I bought it it had 56,000 miles on it. Now it has 61,715. I drove it on the weekends in the summer and occasionally on vacation. It is stored in a heated garage when not in use. It is what I would consider a good driver. It displays well and gets tons of looks and comments. The first day I drove it a little kid rolled down his window and said "Cool Car Mister!" The reason I bought this one is that it had all the orginal parts. Before I bought it someone had repainted it. They did a decent job but by no means show perfect. If you look up close it has some small runs and fish eyes. It has some minor scratches. The leather seats are in great shape no rips or tears. The power windows and locks work but the windows are sticky. The AC compressor is there but I have not tried to get it working. It does not blow cold. Someone put a dash cover over the orginal dash. It doesnt look bad but it's something a show car should change. The interior door panels are original and in good shape but, at some point the pockets must have sagged and someone attempted to glue them up. That would need to be fixed on a show car. This car has the original 8 track Stereo and it still works! When I got the car the digital channel display would light up. But for some reason it does not now. Although the 8 track and radio still work. It has the orginal rims but I had them professionally polished and sealed so they won't tarnish ($1000). They look great. The tires are in great shape. They were new when I got the car and have about 6k on them. The doors open and close as they should. The T-bars open and close but are showing signs of wear. It appears someone put a metal luover over the rear window and it scratched it. It's good for a driver but these would need some attention on a show car. It goes down the road straight as an arrow. It does not smoke or burn oil. The cruise control will lock on but it doesnt hold speed. I'm not sure why but it accelerates one the cruise is engaged. I have tried to be as honest as I can about this car. It is a good driver right now. It would not win shows. But it has the potential if you can do the work. The reason I am selling this car is so I can buy another 1979 10th Anniversery Trans Am that is already completley restored. I want to go to car shows and win some trophies. I want to play on the circuit of car shows. However, I am not talented enough to restore a car. I don't have the proper training, tools or shop to do it in. If you do have these skills this would be a great car for you. If you just want a good driver this would also be a great car for you.... Please if you are not experienced at buying cars at auction understand that when you bid, you are bidding to buy. Ask me any questions. Thanks and Good Luck.
