Vehicle Detail
Great 1966 Mustang Fastback Project! Here are the numbers:Vin-6F09C263126Body-63BColor-MTrim-66Date-21BDSO-53Axle-6Transmission-6 Body/Chassis-The body has been stripped to bare metal and in primer. The fenders, hood, valances, decklid, roof are in great shape. The doors have some rust in the front corners on the inside and outside. The passenger door has some damage-see pics. The quarters are skins that have been tack welded and screwed on by the previous owner. The floors have been replaced and undercoated. The rear quarters, trunk floors, outer wheel houses and transition panel have been riveted by the previous owner. If it where me I would take it apart and weld everything together. The sheetmetal is all aftermarket that is still usable but needs to be installed properly. The inner wheel wells need some rust repair or replacement. The engine compartment has been sandblasted and painted satin black, ready for an engine. All the front aprons and radiator support are original. It has had rear frame rail extensions replaced but some of the welds need cleaned up. The end of both rockers have been cut by the previous owner and need repaired. Glass/interior- All the glass is in good shape. There is no windshield. All the interior is there and bolted in the car and has minor tears. It has a very nice dash and all the pony interior stuff is there. The headliner needs replaced. All the plastic trim in the rear is in good shape with no holes or broken pieces. Engine/Drivetrain-It comes with 2 motors that both need rebuilt. One is a 1966 289 and the other is a 1968 302. The 289 has heads on it and turns over by hand. The 302 does not turn over by hand. There are a bunch of parts like intakes, brackets, extra heads, etc that are included. A C4 transmission is included but needs rebuilt, driveshaft, air cleaner are there as well. Now all the A/c brackets, Power Steering brackets, P/S pump, pulleys, and some other brackets have already been sandblasted and painted. The original A/C compressor is included along with all or most of the A/C lines are included. Suspension- The front suspension looks original as well as the power steering components. The rear end has been rebuilt, sandblasted and primed, and installed with new leaf springs and shackles. New parts not installed- 620 lowering coil springs, upper and lower control arms with ball joints, spring perches, rear sway bar, complete Fastback carpet kit, battery cables, engine gauge feed wiring harness, transmission cooler lines, brake shoes, and some other misc. stuff I am forgetting. I do have a rebuilt 1966 289 that I will sell for an additional $1500 to the winning bidder-see the pic. The engine is complete with new oil pan, timing cover, edelbrock intake, and K code chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Please ask questions. Inspections welcome.
