1978 Renault R5 Le Car Welcome to my auction. On auction on eBay today is a very rare and interesting find. This is a one family owned survivor 1978 Le Car. it has 48,795 miles and they are all documented in the many notes and books that come with this car. The car is NON OPERATIONAL at this time. It has not been started in many years and the engine does not turn over. It is probably siezed or frozen.. I am selling it as a not working engine that the buyer assumes responsibility for fixing or replacing. The rest of the car is super clean and nice. The paint looks to be 100% original in beautiful and rare Lettuce Green. Dispite the odd lighting in my shop the finish is all beautiful and very uniform. Perfect dash and nice clean original carpet. I bought the car about a year ago from the family of the woman that bought the car new in Washington state. She had passed on and left it to her son and grandson. I bought it with dreams of picnics in the countryside and all that, but I never got around to figuring out the motor situation. Make sure you are or know a mechanic that knows how to wrench on one of these cars because none of the guys I know want to get involved. New tires all around, original hubcaps, ZERO RUST. This is just a really cute, French, original car that deserves a good new owner to make this little sweetheart a driver again. Maybe an engine swap or ?? I can't imagine a better start to a fun project than this..Lots of spares and meticulous record keeping by Gloria the original owner. Also her name Glory B still painted on the side..
