Vehicle Detail
This car is gorgeous! I bought it last summer off of Ebay and had to go out to Illinois to pick it up. That was quite an adventure as my diesel was doing funny things to me on the way back, (all the way back). This is the number that is on the driver's door: Also built 6/73, 4L39T34574990 Things I've done to the car: A new thermostat and the radiator overfill cap replaced, (old one wouldn't snap on). And a detail job as you can see in the pics. I've driven this car a couple of times to where I work and back, (150 miles each way), and around town. It always gets looks and thumbs up signs. Everyone looks from kids to old ladies! It's a magnificent car. The mileage is original and has not turned, it's not 110198 it's only 10198. Pretty hard to believe for a car that's 40 years old. The young man I bought it from put 3000 onto it and had some trouble in that area of the country, (hence the bullet strike on the back door). That didn't go through and there are not any other strikes on the body or interior, (thank God). He was a nice kid with a real nice young family to boot. Wish I'd of stayed in touch with him. (Don't think I want to go back that way though, all I smelled going out there from Wyoming was corn,... and pig pee). Not conducive to a fun drive! Trailered it back to Casper, WY. The interior is immaculate. It looks new with no tears, wears, splits, or things coming apart. Seats, panels, and dash have no cracks or splits. Carpet is original with no wearing. Paint on the inside is the same too. Black interior, looks like it came off the lot yesterday. Radio doesn't work, (it's am anyway). I'll have it looked at to see if maybe it might be a fuse. Engine also is immaculate, big ol' monster big block 455. The young man I bought it from had straight pipes put in and they shoot out the back. I'd put quiet mufflers in but my wife has hated the car from the start and about cleaned my clock when I brought it home. I don't understand why she doesn't like these old boats but I'd rather keep her, (had an old 65 Buick Electra in the same scenerio and it went to an older man in Louisianna, man I miss that car). One of these day's I'll have one that I can keep. My dream car is a red with black interior, 67 Buick Electra 4 dr. with the 455 original. This car has a few ding spots in addition to that bullet strike as I point out in the pictures, typical for any car. The places where the paint has worn are shown also. It would be a shame to paint this any other color than the original gold. What else. The air conditioning is original and I even was going to stock up on R12 refrigerant. The problem is is that no one has that kind of equipment to put it into a system anymore and the new refrigerant has a whole different setup, I know, I checked. And, no guaranteeing that it won't leak and at $30 a can and at least 6 cans, youch! It use to cost a couple of bucks when you could buy it at the local hardware store, now look up R12 on ebay. The young man I bought it from also put air shocks on the back. Original shocks are included in box in the back. The air shock filler is just under the rear gas door, (under the license plate), in the back. Spare tire I think is original as perhaps the tires that are on it. They are all in good shape. Original jack in the trunk.I'm six foot with fairly long legs and with the seat back, I can stretch way out. It has more room than my crew cab chevy. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you.
