Vehicle Detail

1923 Model T Touring Car Fully Restored LOW RESERVE · Newer ground up restoration · New Top, Interior, Tires, Side Curtains · New Coil Boxes, timer, battery, plugs, wires, Kevlar bands. Etc. etc. etc. · Current NJ Title in my name Firstly, with respect to the year of this T, I believe it is a 1923, and have advertised it as such, however the title says a 1922, and the engine block, (which I currently do not have in front of me but will pull off the title this weekend) translates into a 1927 engine, so do your due diligence and make sure this is what you are looking for. I am not a Model T expert, and am simply relaying the facts as I know them. History As a long time vintage car collector, I always wanted a Model T in the garage to tinker and tour with. After searching for a bit, I found this example that was nicely restored from the ground up by a previous owner, with the final restoration completed (top and interior) by the person that I bought it from in the fall of 2010. Photos documenting the restoration come with the car. It was pretty obvious to me after driving it around a bit, that, in the Suburban NYC area, driving a vintage T, was about as sensible as trying to land a Bleriot in a snowstorm at rush hour at Laguardia….. so as much as it kills me to do so, it is time to pass this on to someone who lives in a more practical area to enjoy this beauty. Virtually everything on this car is new, and the car is as clean underneath as it is on top. The only flaw is a minor dent/scrape on the front left fender. During the restoration, I believe the front and rear fenders were replaced (probably Rootleib) but the body, wood framing, and the rest of the car appear to be original. It is straight and smooth and the paint is deep and rich. The tires still have the little nubbies on them and I was told that the engine was rebuilt. The top, and interior are brand new (Fall 2010) and the sidecurtains and hardware are still in the Cartouche box. This is an amazingly clean car. Mechanically, the T starts up quickly, both on the electric starter and by hand, and enjoys many “free starts” on the crank. It seems to run and drive out well but I have only tooled around with it locally on side streets and I have to admit that I really don’t know much about T’s to make an informed decision on their driving dynamics. Extra goodies include, a good, spare set of coils, a Model T jack and some custom made jackstands, wiper, side mirror, heat riser pipe, luggage rack, two spare wheels, spare timers, timing rods, rod bending tool, hub tools, generator cutout, transmission screen, and some other various goodies. INSPECTION This car may be viewed at any time during the weekends of the 23rd and the 2nd at my warehouse in NJ. We have plenty of room for you to tire kick, and inspect indoors if the weather is bad. It may be possible, with notice, to arrange for a weekday inspection as well. This car is being offered “as is”, “where is” with no warranties, expressed or implied. The car is located in Maplewood New Jersey, about ½ hour from Midtown Manhattan NYC and within walking distance of the Maplewood train station.
