There are a lot of these old fords out there for sale, but the majority of them are beat, rusty, abused or all of the above. I've owned many '67-'72 fords and look for them all the time and rarely see them for sale this clean. The gentleman I bought it from had owned it for the last 28 years and I believe he was the second owner. This truck is not perfect, but is mostly original and looks great. It has a rebuilt 390 with performance modifications and posi rearend. It runs excellent and has plenty of power to get it sideways. Here are all the details. MORE PICTURES ARE IN THE PHOTOBUCKET LINK BELOW. http://s942.beta.photobucket.com/user/tutheck5/library/1967%20ford%20ranger MECHANICAL This ford runs excellent and has great power. The previous owner had the motor rebuilt. This truck originally had a 352 but he either rebuilt the motor to 390 specs or put a 390 in it. I can't remember which exactly. I don't have any paperwork, but he was a legitimate guy and the gaskets still look new and the motor is clean for the most part. No dripping leaks. It starts and runs nice. It has a larger cam, I believe close to as big as you can put in a 390 without modifiying it to adjustable rockers. It has a 4v intake and rebuilt holley carb. The engine has headers and new chrome valve covers and intake. I'm not sure what the transmission is but I'm guessing it's a C6. I can find out for sure if you care. The engine always starts easily even though the electric choke is not hooked up and it's been cold here. It doesn't smoke at all. Doesn't knock or tick or heat up. No oil in water or water in oil. The transmisson shifts as it should. The column shifter needs a little work and tightened up. It won't go into park unless you reach under the hood and pull it in. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION OR PARKING PAWL. The shifter just needs work but I would personally put a nice floor shifter in it. They are much better for hot rodding. This truck has a posi locker third member that I put in it. It spins the tires easily and will keep spinning in second gear and the transmission doesn't even have a shift kit. The truck doesn't have power steering or power brakes. They are easy to convert and I can help you find the parts and put them in the truck before it ships out. Power steering is kind of a must-have if you want to hotrod this truck because it will get sideways and spin brodies easily. I've only driven it a couple times and haven't thrashed on it but did test it to see what kind of power it had (only spun one donut). I put the wheels on it new. Front tires are 30-40%, rears are about 50-60%. It drives nice and straight down the road. No vibrations or anything abnormal. Doesn't pull. Front shocks are new. Rears aren't new but are good. The ford has dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. The motor is very smooth and quiet, as is the exhaust. Too quiet for me personally, as I like to hear what the motor is doing. I would put some flowmasters on it or something a little louder. Brakes work fine but it wouldn't hurt to inspect and bleed them. Headlights, turnsignals, wipers, heater fan, interior light, etc. works. Overall, it's very mechanically sound and really needs nothing I can think of. BODY As you can see in the pics, the body is very nice. In my opinion the paint is original. Paint code is raven black which matches what is on it now. It looks great at 20 feet or so, but has many paint blemishes. No dents to speak of, but several small dings. It's really exceptionally straight for an un-restored '67, but not perfect. No sign of filler anywhere. I don't use the "knock with your knuckles" method of finding filler that old timers do, as it's very inaccurate. I use a digital depth finder that is also much better than a magnet. No evidence in my opinion of any repaint and no overspray in the jams or anywhere else. Previous owner repainted the inner fenders and headers, probably when he had the motor rebuilt. He may have taken the fenders off also because they need adjusted a little bit. The trim is in good shape for the most part. Not perfect but nice. The grille and headlight doors are very nice. Front bumper is good. I have a rear bumper if you want it. It's the one that came off it but it's ugly. Hood, doors, and tailgate open as they should. Windshield has chips but is usable. Other windows fine but have usual wear. The truck has rust in the rear outer cab corners. This is the only rust I've been able to find on it and the only rust I believe it has. The cab corners aren't too bad and it's completely usable as-is. Replacement corners are probably available but not hard to find used. Frame, floors, front cab mounts, fenders, box, tailgate, doors, hood, inner fenders, header, etc. etc. is rust free. INTERIOR The pictures pretty much tell the story, but included is an original radio. Also comes with mounting chrome "bezel" that radio goes in. Original seat is gone but was in bad shape. Seat in it is out of a '72. Doorpanels have not-so-good speakers cut into them. Carpet is original and usable but not perfect obviously. Dashpad is cracked but they may make repops. Defrost selector and heater fan works. Heater "temperature" switch is not connected. Should be an easy fix. Headliner is decent and usable. OVERALL This truck is in good shape and I know they don't come along very often this clean. I see them occasionally, but they are usually pea green or tan or some other undesirable color. I would cruise this as-is and it's gets plenty of compliments. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
