Vehicle Detail
This 2000 Ferrari GTA was purchased in 2000 by Mr. Pond in California for 235,000 $ and was immediately placed in his car museum as part of his car collection. Along with the car museum, Mr. Pond also maintained a museum for world war II airplanes. You can get more info on Mr. Pond's car and airplane collection by googling "The Pond Collection". The Pond car collection maintains approximately 135 cars and the entire collection can be seen online. I purchased this 456 GTA in 2011 from the Pond Collection museum. The people responsible for the car collection were in the process of trying to make more space in order to house more expensive and interesting cars. (If you take a look at the collection online, you are likely to observe that some of the cars are quite unique, probably worth 10 to 20 times more than the 456). This car is in excellent condition. During the first 10 years of its life it was regularly "exercised" by the staff of the museum. If you look at some of the photos relating to the Pond Car Collection (as I also did last year prior to purchasing the car), on one of the photos you can see a large blackboard on the wall that lists all the cars in the collection. Next to the cars are dates and schedules where each car gets taken out for a short drive on regular intervals. In this way all cars were "exercised" on a regular basis. All cars in the collection were regularly maintained by staff mechanics who did all the maintanance on the cars. In 2010 a decision was reached by the board of the Pond Collection Museum to sell some of their least valuable cars. Around that time one of the more senior mechanics had been allowed to use the 456 as a daily driver. Within a period of a couple of years he put approximately 10,000 miles on the car. This car is in "brand new condition". It is all original. It came with two sets of exhaust pipes. Its original exhaust pipes and a set of Tubi exhausts. I have all the manuals, the original sticker and all relevant paper work and sales aggrement from when it was purchased by Mr. Pond himself. The car has always been garaged in a climate control garage, both when in California and since I bought it last year. This 456 has never seen the rain. There is no history of any accidents, minor or major. Upon purchasing the car I had it inspected by Ferrari mechanics in Pittsburgh who changed the battery, the oil and oil filter. I drove the car in the summer and fall. The car drives perfect. Sorry, I do not have any records from the last major service done. The price reduction from 60,000 to 53,950 was done to reflect that. This is the most solid 456 GTA available for sale in the US at this time. Also, tires are new. Breaks are excellent. Please do not hesitate to email me any questions that you may have. Thank you. The car comes with its Ferrari cover, all tools and manuals and 3 remote keys.
