Ford produced two 75th Anniversary cars in 1978, the Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird and the Mark V. Most of the Thunderbirds were painted Diamond Blue, but in March of 1978, they offered these cars in Polar White and Pastel Beige. Not many of these special cars were built in these two colors during the last six months of the 1978 model year. A $6,000 option on the Thunderbird series, it doubled the price of the standard, nicely equipped TBird model that year. They were equipped with a special biscuit pattern velour interior laden with luxury equipment as standard. This lovely car has traveled just 66,000 miles since new and has been well cared for by its prior owners. This car includes the Diamond Jubilee special accents of color keyed turbine wheels, special hood ornament, special pinstriping, and rosewood interior appointments. It is equipped with the original 351 cubic inch engine and 2BBL carb. This car has a very nice dual stage repaint in its original Polar White. Original split landau vinyl roof. Fresh painted pinstripe in contrasting blue. Very nice factory Diamond Jubilee interior. Special Edition color keyed turbine wheels. This lovely car has been well cared for by its prior owners.
