Vehicle Detail
1978 Porsche 911SC with LS1 GM Engine This car has a 1999 Camaro LS1 stock factory 5.7L motor. Recently been licensed and inspected. Have clean title in hand. It has a 1999-2002 wiring harness (not the hard to find 1998 harness). It has a 1999-2000 computer. This is a mechanically sound vehicle. 915 transmission with the Toy-Jet V8 Conversion. This vehicle is equipped with my patented rear radiator cooling system. It is equipped with an electric water pump. Wheels are Porsche original Fuchs 7Jx16 & 8Jx16. It has factory exhaust manifolds with flow master mufflers. Car is very reliable. No more adjusting valves every six months. I have a 1980 Porsche 911SC with the LS1 conversion as my daily driver, and in the past 12 years all I had to do so far is routine maintenance, change oil, tires, brake shoes, and belts. This car starts up so fast you barely can hear the starter. There is little to no maintenance. There is more room to work in the engine compartment than with the stock Porsche engine. Interior is good condition, front seats are in good condition, and carpet is in good shape, but can use shampooing. It has the 1987 Head light kit. This is a factory AC car, but the AC system does not have a compressor. The rest is all there. It has a heater. No cracks in the dash. I have not put more than 25 miles on this car since the conversion. The tires have good rubber. There are small paint flaws but there is absolutely no rust. I have just retired two years ago and I am ready to convert more vehicles on my spare time. I have sold my conversion parts to others, but now I have more time and am able to do conversions and offer them to the public. This is not a racecar. This is a daily driver. Just open the sunroof and enjoy the cruise. You will be the talk of the town and the only one at your local car hang out with a LS1 Porsche 911. You are purchasing history. I did the "World's First state of the art LS1 conversion" (I did not do the "first V8" conversion in the world, that was done by Rod Simpson of Southern California in 1968). Refer to my website for more pictures and to read all about my personal vehicle. My daily driver is the "First" in the world Supercharged Porsche LS6 powered 911. So, you are buying a conversion from guy who started the LS1 Porsche craze and the inventor who did the "World's first LS1" Porsche 911 & 914 conversions. Improvement Opportunities The driver side rear seat back has a small 1" rip in it. The paint has some chips as you can observe in the video. The carpet will need shampooing. I am truly seeking someone who is looking for a car with the V8 conversion completed who wants a small project to complete to his or her liking. For the price this car is being offered for, I am afraid I cannot deliver the car in near perfect condition. MORE Pictures and a video to hear it run are at: http://toy-jet.com/index118.html I advise you to do some research on conversion cost before you consider buying this vehicle. This car is priced close to what an LS1 engine, V8 conversion kit, and labor would cost. You are coming close to getting the 911-car body free! Take advantage of this steal of a deal. Please do your research; you would appreciate bidding even more. Average conversion kit cost 5.5k to 6k Average used LS1 engine cost $3.5K Average labor cost 3k to 5K Average investment in a Porsche 911 Roller (no transaxle) 5k to 10k for a decent one Average tranaxle cost 1.5k to 2.5k Do it yourself average total cost 17K To buy the Kit, Car and pay labor to have someone do the conversion for you will cost about 21K Keep in mind classic Porsche bodies in good condition are getting harder to find. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHIPPING COST Thanks for your time. I bought the LS1 in San Antonio Texas; it was sold to me with no more than 52k miles on it. This is nominal for a fuel-injected engine, in the old days of carburetion; this would have a little more significance. It sounds good and runs like a Swiss clock.
