Vehicle Detail

1978 Jeep Wagoneer S 4X4 *401 V8*Air Conditioning*Locking Differential*Wood Grain*Matching Numbers*Documented 100k Original Miles* Here she is Wagoneer fans! The one we all hope to find! This is a RUST FREE survivor Jeep with brand new upgrades that allow excellent reliability along with improved performance and economy. Before I get into the upgrades, I want to talk about the Jeep itself. This is a Montana Jeep with one long term Montana owner and one brief Oregon owner. The Jeep was purchased new in Billings and lived its life there in the dry climate. It was personally cared for by the family that owned it in Billings. Every time services were performed, (oil changes, transmission services, belts, hoses, brakes), they wrote down the date and miles and what was completed in a little book. This type of care is something we may never see again in the auto world.. Too bad, because it really adds to the romance this car was a part of. Along with all this routine maintenance the Wagoneer also received a complete engine overhaul at 72,077 miles. This service receipt is comprehensive and present along with the window sticker, owner’s manual, and a full binder of other receipts, documents and bulletins. The Jeep was enjoyed by the folks in Montana for several more years and then was sold to a man in Portland who wanted to use the Jeep daily and really embrace the Portlandia spirit we have in our eclectic city. The new owner soon realized that as much as he loved the Wagoneer, he just never really used it.. It sat for several years in his garage and waited.. That is where I came in.. and the modernization. I bought the Jeep from him in Non-Operational condition. He had removed the troublesome Motorcraft carburetor, the manifold, and the distributor. At a massive expense he purchased a Howell EFI Fuel injection system, an Electronic Performance Distributor, and all the computer hardware to run these improvements and really modernize this vintage beauty. It was a bigger job than he expected however, and he could not complete the task. I took on the task and found the right guy to perform the install. The fuel injection system is the same as the ones used on 1992-95 350 V8 EFI Chevrolet engines. The system is not exotic, but the install was not exactly bolt on. He read all the manuals; he configured the computer, he installed the oxygen sensors.. He worked like a surgeon.. clean and organized.. 3 days later, after everything was correct he turned the key and the Jeep started immediately. I am still amazed by how well it runs. No smoke, no coughing, no bogging.. It just runs. It is cold blooded though and will die if you try to drive before a few minutes of warm up time. I kept every single original part. Everything comes with the Jeep. I have every component, nut and bolt and wire and hose to bring the Wagoneer back to stock if someone someday so desires. This is a really nice jeep and it has always been so.. No Crashes, clean title, working rear power window and cold blowing A/C. The paint is all factory except the tailgate and behind the rear wheels. The gas gage is not working for some reason.. Most aren’t. The tires are good the chrome is all tight and present. The transmission shifts properly and the power brakes stop straight and true. It does not wander on the roads and there are no rattles or clunks or squeaks. The headliner sags a little and the carpet has a few stains in the driver’s footwell. I am setting the reserve low and fully expect this Wagoneer to sell the first go around. Please contact me with questions if you have them before bidding. Also, if you are new to eBay please let me know you that are sincere. I may block your bid otherwise. I am open to offers to end early, but I only talk money over the phone. I am usually available and love to talk about this Jeep!! Thank You. Justin 503-969-5127
