Finances force the reluctant sale of my 1982 Triumph Bonneville T140ES. This has been a great bike, it's a lot of fun to ride, handles very nicely. in 1982, Triumph had pretty much ironed all the bugs out of their design and updated it to the point it could compete with the Japanese bikes of the period. Unfortunately, the financial decisions of the past were crashing down on them and they closed the doors of the Meriden Plant forever in 1983. I've been riding for a lot of years, I'ver only EVER seen ONE other of these bikes on the road.. and that was in England in 1982! They are a pretty rare bird here in the US, at least as far as people riding them. It's still a 31 year old motorcycle, it starts and runs well, the electric starter works fine. Some of the chrome is showing its age though, the paint is not perfect and the replacement mufflers fitted to this bike are showing their cheapness. As far as I can tell though, apart from the exhaust, the oil cooler and MAYBE the seat, it's all stock. Oh, I did replace the alternator and upgrade to an Antigravity Lithium battery. It's just a really nice bike to ride, the five speed transmission works well, it's really hard to not come back with a smile on your face. Tires are a year old with about 200 miles on them.
