Vehicle Detail
HERE IS AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ORIGINAL AND VIRTUALLY UNMOLESTED 1982 CHEVROLET CORVETTE COLLECTORS EDITION WITH 44K ORIGINAL AND DOCUMENTED MILES. TURN-KEY AND READY TO CRUISE ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY!Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person.Vehicle came out of Connecticut. This was a family heirloom that was passed down to the daughter once the father died, and acquired through her. The father had purchased the car in the several years ago and paid over $14,000 for it, not to mention all the service work and maintenance that was done to bring it up to spec. It has been meticulously maintained since then and remains 99% factory original (everything except the radio). Original 44,838 miles on the car. Clean history, never in any accidents or collisions. Runs/drives great!Body is VERY STRAIGHT with excellent original gaps. Doors open and close flawlessly. I don't think you'll find a nicer original car for the money than this one!Under the hood lies a factory MATCHING NUMBERS 350ci Cross-Fire injection V8, absolutely all stock down to the original smog equipment that is all still there, as well as the very hard to find ignition shielding, all still present. I mean even the little light that goes on when you open the hood is still there and it works!!!Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty exhaust system. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding. I drove the car about once a week, both around town and on the highway and it performs great. You can cruise with it on the highway all day at 65-70 mph and I would trust it to drive anywhere at the drop of a hat.Interior is basically ALL ORIGINAL from what I can tell (except perhaps the door panels which look too nice to be factory, and may be replacements). Leather seats are in GOOD shape overall with normal wear and tear and a couple of small seam splits and the usual wrinkling that is common on these. Nice door panels that look nearly like new. Immaculate dash which you just don't see on these cars anymore (NO cracks by the speaker holes either). Good steering wheel. Original "Bronze" tint glass t-tops are in EXCELLENT shape as well with NO cracks I was able to see. Overall beautifully presentable for a nice driver.Underside has a ROCK SOLID frame with some very minor surface rust from regular use. Floorboards are excellent throughout and ORIGINAL. Very SOLID birdcage and NICE windshield pillar posts. As nice as you can get in an original car. All the stock spare tire carrier assembly is there as well. The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in GOOD shaped throughout and you can tell it is original because it has some minor fading on the hood in a couple of spots and the rear bumper, which was pretty common on these). There are also various small chips minor scratches, lots of which were touched up where needed. Brake pedal is soft and may need bleeding the lines (NEW brake pads were installed recently). Headlights do go up and down but are slow. A/C could use a check-up/recharge. Power door locks stick at times. So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 30 years old so keep that in mind.If you just want a GREAT LOOKING AND VIRTUALLY RUST-FREE HIGH-END TURN-KEY DRIVER then this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some work to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.Auction Rules:We would like to encourage you to Please follow our rules of the auction and refrain from creating your own!
