Here is a 1975 AM General Jeep DJ5D right hand drive mail jeep. It is 2 wheel drive with an automatic transmission. AM General built these vehicles for the post office for mail delivery and there is not a better or tougher vehicle that can take the daily abuse of running off road to boxes every day. I used it for mail delivery until I bought a 4x4 subaru right hand drive. This jeep still has the amber led warning lights I installed in the interior front and rear window glass. It has a control box under the dash to turn the leds off and on and to select the flash pattern. The mail tray is installed. It runs good, the transmission shifts good and it has four good radial tires and a spare tire and wheel. All the exterior doors have locks that still work with the ignition key. I recently put a new fuel pump on it and six new spark plugs in the engine. I used it on a route that was 54 miles long with 650 boxes and it never let me down. The speedometer does not work and I never tried to fix it although new instruments and cables are readily available. It also has a large yellow warning sign painted on the rear door as seen in the picture. It is located in Whitakers North Carolina just off I-95 at exit 150.
