Up for auction is the highest documented Mustang Mach I we have had the pleasure of selling and is also an extremely rare and highly desirable car. This is the real deal folks, a true 428 SCJ Drag Pack Mustang Mach I fully documented with the original build sheet, the original window sticker, and deluxe Marti Report. And it gets better...its a three owner car with only 58390 Miles on since new. When special ordered it came loaded with the most potent 428 SCJ R-code Drag Pack motor with it's W-code 4:30 Traction-Lok axle ratio rear end, this thing could eat up anything on the street at the time and is a great performer even today! It has the quick shifting C-6 Cruise-O-matic Transmission mated to it's 4:30 rear end, and it shifts out with authority like it should. Being an R code it has it's original "Shaker" hood. The SCJ came with C-6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission ordered option and tinted glass and tachometer as well. It is finished in beautiful Raven Black on the exterior as well as on interior. The body and interior are in excellent condition. It has been kept in a heated garage and in the last eight years of ownership it has been driven only 2,811 miles. NOTE: This is a true Drag Pack Order SCJ Shaker Mach I and this is an ultra rare ordered package car The $155 Drag-Pack option was the 428 Super Cobra Jet Ram Air. It used the shaker scoop, plus a modified crankshaft and stronger connecting rods for better high-rpm durability, as well as an engine oil cooler that decreased lubricant temperature by 30 degrees. The Drag Pack came with limited-slip 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 cogs and excluded air conditioning. All versions used a four-speed or Ford's improved SelectShift automatic. The newly restyled 1969 Mustang had two bodystyles, and the Mach 1 package was only available on the fastback version. The Mach 1 title adorned performance styled Mustang offerings until the end of the Mustang II in 1978. Dearborn's fight to shed its also-ran image got a boost when the Mach 1 moved into the starting gate. Here was a Mustang that looked the part of a modern pony muscle car, and in 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet livery, it ran like one. Mustang was restyled for '69, gaining 3.8 inches of body length -- all ahead of the front wheels -- and about 140 pounds of curb weight. The flowing lines looked right in new Mach 1 livery. This was the mainstream performance version. It came standard with a 351-cid V-8, but star of the stable was the optional 428-cid Cobra Jet. Essentially the same V-8 that put Ford muscle on the map in the 1968 1/2 Cobra Jet Mustang, it came in three states of tune for '69.
