Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1950 Oldsmobile 98 2 door sedanette powered by a 350 small block Chevy and a 350 turbo hydramatic transmission. It runs and drives great. Suspension is all stock. The radiator is new, the brakes are new, and the gas tank has been strip-cleaned (but not yet sealed). I also had brand new glass pack mufflers installed, but there are no tail pipes yet. The car has been changed over to 12 volts. (The gas gauge stopped working the other day and will need to be fixed.) The turn signals and speedometer need to be wired up as well. The body is solid, but not perfect. During its lifetime, the outer rockers and lower rear fenders have been repaired. I had the floors replaced with the correct replacement panels because they were weak. I found that the inner rockers are there, but they were cut halfway up for clearance to replace the outer rockers. No signs of cancer. I have had this car for four years and have not seen any new signs of serious rust anywhere. The trunk pan is thin but still there. The paint is good and the body work is fair for a driver. I also had a brand new windshield put in with the brand new rubber. The rear window has new rubber too. The side glass is good, but will need new window channels. The interior: the seats are black tuck 'n' roll and are in usable condition. New carpet has been put in. The dash is nice. The interior will need a headliner (have all bows) and the front door panel patterns will need to be upholstered. I am missing a right rear interior garnish moulding and radio. Once again, this car is not perfect, but it is a fun and enjoyable driver. This is the last year of the fastback and the first year of the wide body for Oldsmobile. The 98 sedanette is a very rare model and is not seen nearly as much as the 88 or 76 models. More pictures can be seen here. I am selling the car AS-IS and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please read the ENTIRE ad and ask any questions BEFORE bidding, as I will not respond to any low-balling, tire-kicking, ignorant people who don’t have a clue as to what they are bidding on or looking at. Buyer is responsible for coming by to visually inspect the car before bidding if they so desire; sales are final and AS-IS. A $1,000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due upon 24 hours of the auction’s end date, with the balance due by verified cashier's check within 7 days of the auction end date. NO money orders. Cashier's check must clear before buyer can take vehicle or any shipping arrangements can be completed. The buyer is responsible for pickup and transportation within 7 days of the auction’s end date. Good luck and happy bidding!
