Up for sale is my '97 SL 500 40th Anniversary Special Edition. This very collectible car was a limited edition produced to celebrate the 40th year of production of the Roadster. It has a special designo red paint, a special soft leather interior without perforations, wood steering wheel and special wood trim. Also equipped with special 17inch rims. I am the second owner of this car, having purchased it in August 2009. I have done many restorations on the car including a new soft-top and interior headliner on the hardtop. Tires are new with very little miles. I rebuilt the A/C system and then the blower motor regulator failed. This needs to be addressed and the estimate for repair is app. $800 for parts and labor. There are also 2 leaking hydraulic cylinders for the soft-top mechanism which need repair. I have all the records and receipts during my ownership and some records from the previous owner. My employment situation has changed and I had to purchase an economical car for my commute. I cannot justify keeping the roadster anymore to complete the restorations. It is a fine example of this rare collectible car and it is a joy to drive. I am offering it at a very low Buy It Now price. It is being sold As Is and Where Is. There are no warranties.
