1985 TOYOTA 4WD PICKUP DELUXE GRADE STANDARD BED ½ TON Timeless Toyota Quality and Original California Truck! Simple, Classic, and Tough I am proud to offer a rare, beautiful 1985 Toyota 4 Wheel Drive Truck in original condition. Purchased new at Toyota of Sacramento, this is a great example of a vehicle that has been cared for, loved and driven in California the majority of its life. The vehicle’s original owner relocated to Arizona for a few years and I purchased it from him in August of 2010. If you have been looking for a 1984-1988 Toyota Truck with straight front axle and in stock configuration, look no further, this is the vehicle for you. This vehicle has had only one other owner and appears to have been used for light duty reasons as there are no signs of off road abuse or aftermarket suspension modifications. This is a stock 4WD truck with a clear title, 22R (2500CC) engine, 5-speed manual transmission, power steering, and majority of factory installed equipment including original Toyota AM/FM cassette player, white steel wheels with stock sized tires, 4 original mud guards, sliding rear glass, and front door vent windows to bring in the cool breeze. The Standard Bed is suitable for heavy loads, ATV’s, or general utility use and is in excellent shape with only minor wear. This truck was driven but never modified or abused. The truck’s tires are beginning to show some signs of slight cracking but retain plenty of tread remaining. According to its original owner, the vehicle has never been in any accident and was rarely used off-road. Visually, the vehicle’s exterior is in excellent condition. The vehicle’s hood and roof were beginning to show signs of wear and the original paint was beginning to peel away. I opted to re-spray the exterior of the truck and bed with single stage paint to match the factory color. Prior to paint, the vehicle was 99% rust free and a perfect candidate for a new coat of fresh blue paint. Original decals and emblems were removed and replaced to retain the factory look. The interior is all original with a small amount of wear on the driver’s sun visor and door vinyl. The factory bench seat was recently recovered with matching blue vinyl to replace existing complete with new foam and springs repaired to like new condition. The original blue Toyota vinyl floor remains in great condition. Headliner is intact and free from tears or holes. In terms of items to be addressed, there are a few cracks on the original dash, the two caps from the driver’s door handles have popped off and will need to be replaced, and interior dome light cover is missing. Factory tool kit, owner’s manual, spare tire, bottle jack, and small stack of service records will be included with the sale. The vehicle includes clear California tile and current PNO (Planned Non-Operation) registration. Mechanically, the vehicle is exceptionally strong with a rebuilt engine including a Toyota TRD cam and transfer case. This truck runs better than it did new. The factory 5-speed transmission shifts smoothly and the 4WD functions as it should. The truck was used as a daily driver and the odometer reads 240k miles (8,500 miles average for its 28 years of life). I have driven the vehicle at city and highway speeds and the truck accelerates and drives very nicely. The truck has a factory heater but was not originally equipped with Air Conditioning. The undercarriage and frame is solid and shows only minimal surface rust, as it was kept in a dry, warm climate. No suspect coatings, paint or lining here.
