Vehicle Detail
If you enjoy being the center of attention buy this Cadillac. You can't drive anywhere without having to talk about it, or having your picture made, or allowing others to have their photo made with it. It is absolutely stunning. 1949 was the first year of the overhead valve engine and put Cadillac in the front row of not only luxury cars, but also performance cars. This example has benefitted from a restoration that probably puts it in the Rest-0-Mod category but it's still all Caddy! The original 331 ci engine and auto tranny has been replaced with a seventies version of the Cadillac 500 cubic inch torque monster built to make 450 horsepower and a mountain of torque. The transmission is from the same era, being a Turbo 400 automatic. The front and rear suspension and rear differential are from a 1975 Cadillac. This thing will cruise all day at 80 mph and has on more than one occasion on it's way to car shows and just out cruising. It is equipped with many of the power accessories from the same seventies era: power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, and seat, The original radio has been converted to AM/FM stereo but retains the original appearance. The car appears all stock with the exception of the chrome wire wheels, which were available for these cars, and a frenched power antenna. The wide whitewall tires are radials for the sake of drivability. The top is power operated with chromed top bows and covered in canvas cloth, and looks and works beautifully. The red leather is the same quality, no stains, fading or tears, and smells wonderful. All the stainless trim is beautifully polished. All plated pieces have been re-chromed and are as close to perfect as you'll find. The quality of black paint on the car is evident in the photos. There is absolutely no rust anywhere in this body. You can see that the body is as straight as a laser and the black paint would show it if it weren't. This Caddy was built to drive, the drive train and suspension is essentially a mid seventies DeVille and drives like it. The engine is tastefully chromed and sits in a very detailed engine compartment. The trunk is just as detailed. I would not hesitate to drive this Cadillac across country. However if you want to be the hit of most any car show, this will do it. If it were in the Barrett-Jackson auction it would easily be a 100K plus sale. You can own it for a lot less here on EBAY. I'm selling it because I have too many cars and not enough room. The car will be sold with a bill of sale and a current Georgia registration. Georgia does not title vehicles of this age. Payment much be made by wire transfer, or cashiers check. The car will not be released until the check has cleared my bank.
