Vehicle Detail

Thank you for viewing! You are bidding on a used 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0L with 156,251 miles. Condition: USED (PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING) Vehicle will be SOLD AS IS... I will do my best to describe anything and everything about the Jeep. If you have questions, please ask. I recently broke the clutch on the Jeep. I am pretty sure it does not need a complete repair or a pressure plate, but I am not 100% sure. I was driving down the road and it simply wouldn't push in anymore. I am guessing it could be the clutch master cylinder. I simply do not have the time to repair the clutch as I just bought a new car. Please note: since the clutch does not work, the Jeep will not start as you need to push in the clutch for this to happen, unless you bypass the kill switch (I have not bothered to do this).. I can ensure you the Jeep does start and runs. The engine works great, as I have always changed the oil myself with full synthetic engine oil. It has many more miles to go. There are Borla Exhaust Headers and K&N after market intake replacing the old factory air filter. _____________________________________________________________ Engine Lights: The engine light is on. I know exactly what the problem is, it is an small EVAP leak, which in most cases is the gas cap, but I have replaced that a few times and it is still on. I have tracked it down to a small hose that must have a pin hole in it letting air in/out. In the past I have just blocked this hose and the engine light will turn off and the Jeep will pass emissions with out a problem. The ABS light is also on. On the passenger front right side the brake hose, not the brake line, has broken off. I believe I have the spare part, but have not installed the new line. I will have to double check to make sure I still have it. So since the line it off, the ABS brakes do not work, just normal brakes. _____________________________________________________________ Interior: The material on the interior seats is vinyl in grey. The driver's seat has some wear on it and splits from years of driving. You should be able to see this from the photo's. There is a back seat as well. The stereo is an aftermarket stereo that plays with just an iPod or an iPhone. The console that holds in the stereo is a bit loose and may need a few screws as since it is a jeep people have broken in and stolen my stereo's before breaking off the screws to the console. The lock on the center console between the driver's and passenger seat is also broken. There is no more leather wrapping the steering wheel, which makes no sense to begin with as it is a Jeep. The carpets are in decent shape and there are rubber mats on both driver and passenger side as well as in the back behind both seats. _____________________________________________________________ Exterior: The body itself looks great. There are no large dents or severe body damage that the jeep has been through. There is some paint chipping around the front headlights, which is notorious with these Jeeps. A front bra would solve this problem if it bothered you. There is some paint chipping on the rear door hinges as well as on the mirrors. The soft top is factory issued so it has been with the Jeep since 98'. There is obviously some wear and tear on the soft top. The windows are cloudy and scratched and the stitching is coming undone near the front. All common problems with soft tops. The fenders are not faded due to sun, since I painted them (believe it or not, it does the trick) _____________________________________________________________ Undercarriage: The Jeep was shipped out to California last year from Massachusetts so it is an East Coast vehicle and it was exposed to salt roads during the winter. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, there is a decent amount of rust on the undercarriage. There are no holes in the floor of the Jeep and obviously with it being in California there should be no more cause for rust. I think the u-joints on the axle could use repair as well, which is a fairly simple and not that costly job. I had all the brakes, front and back, done in the middle of last year as well as the u-joints on each wheel. The tires I think are 31" and on after market rims. The rims do have some flaking. Most of the brake lines were replaced with stainless steel tubing except for 1 i think. ____________________________________________________________ Vehicle History Report: The report brings up 2 reports, one being a collision and the other being vandalism. The collision was some lady that rear ended me at a low rate of speed at a stop light. I had to get a new bumper from that. The vandalism was due to the fact that I had my doors stolen. I have since installed door locks over the doors hinges to prevent further theft. ____________________________________________________________ The Jeep was my first car and has been with me for years, but it's time I move on. I also cant fit it with my other car into my parking spot so it has to go. I was offered a fair amount as a dealer trade in, but wanted to try my luck on eBay. I'd rather a Jeep enthusiast gets the Jeep then some dealer. This is going to be a steal for the right person who has the time and energy that is needed when it comes to owning a Jeep. Please remember this is SOLD AS IS and buyer is responsible for shipping. A $500 deposit will be due within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. I have tried my best to describe everything I know that is wrong or working on the Jeep. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
