This is a government issue 1956 chevy 1/2 ton panel truck. The government tag and stenciling is still on the dash. At some point it's been painted obviously but the body is solid for a project and I've found no bondo. It does have some rust and needs complete restoration, but it runs great and is about as complete as you'll usually find. Rally wheels are not included. It comes with original style wheels which I think are 16", and two original hubcaps. More parts are included and pictured which include but is not limited to: Passenger fender, steering wheel, door panel, transmission cover, wiper mechanism stuff, passenger wing window frame, 2 hubcaps, heater stuff, extra grille, etc . The drivers window is in it, but rolled down for pics. Here are all the details. PHOTOBUCKET LINK http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/1956%20CHEVY%20PANEL/ MECHANICAL This has what I believe is the original 235 six cylinder. It runs great. It starts every time, doesn't smoke, doesn't have any dripping oil leaks, doesn't knock or tick. It doesn't overheat. It had sat for awhile but I cleaned the fuel pump and put new fuel and spark plugs in it and it started right up. I'm sure it could use new wires, fluids, etc. also but runs very smooth. Choke works. Still has original oil bath air cleaner. Radiator has a leak on the top which may seal with some additive but it should be easy to braze anyway's. Transmission is a three speed and probably used to be a truck four speed because the column is not a three speed column. It has an aftermarket floor shifter which is not nice but does work. New hurst 3-speed shifters are nice and cheap. Transmission cover is included. All gears work and the clutch doesn't slip. Headlights work. I'm not sure that anything else electrical works. It should be re-wired I think. Still has the floor- engaged starter that works. Brakes don't work. Tires that come on original style wheels are old and not nice but do hold air. The engine purrs like a kitten, but my camera doesn't have the best sound quality. Also, it was cold out when the exhaust video was taken. The truck does not smoke when running. VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/1956%20CHEVY%20PANEL/?action=view¤t=003.mp4 VIDEO OF EXHAUST http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/1956%20CHEVY%20PANEL/?action=view¤t=004.mp4 BODY The body does need paint and some rust repair. The front fenders have the usual rust in the rear corners and a little rust on the eyebrows, but that's fairly minor. Doors are in pretty nice shape and nearly rust free. Each door has a tiny spot of rust on the inside rear corner. It is minor. It is just on the inside layer, there is no rust on the outside skins or anywhere else on them. Hood is very nice. Inner fenders are in good shape. There is rust down low in the "rocker" type area between the doors and rear wheelwells, and behind the wheelwells. Wheelwell lips are in good shape except the lower areas mentioned. Jams are all good. Some rust in the floors in the front foot area but it's really not very bad for a '56. There is not very much to fix really. The majority of the flooring is good. Rear wood is not perfect, but usable and could be refinished. Roof and side panels are rust free. Rear doors need hinge work but are fairly straight have no rust. Grille is in nice shape. Lower hinge on drivers side needs work or bolted on. You have to lift the door up to get it latched. Drip rails, frame, dash, cowl, firewall, header, etc. are nice and those aren't usually a problem in this area (montana). I have another fender for the passenger side that is better than the one on it, but needs work also. It is included. New fenders are probably sold though and it may be easier and cheaper to use new ones. No sign of any filler and "wavyness" in the pics on the side panels appears to be just paint although it may look differently in pictures. No bondo cracking that I could find and I tested several areas with a digital thickness gauge. Overall the body is fairly straight and solid for an unrestored '56 compared to many I have seen. INTERIOR Not much to mention here besides that the interior does have the original seats. An extra steering wheel is included with the horn cap. Drivers door panel is included. Heater box and other miscellaneous is included and pictured. Rear wood is usable and not rotten. OVERALL These panels look great fixed up and can be used to haul a variety of things or used for advertising. I've also seen many made into rods that have sleeping quarters in the back and they make great tow rigs for hotrods or racecars. Thanks and happy bidding. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS. IT IS USED, OLD, AND NEEDS RESTORATION. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
